I haven't read all my books from the last two weeks yet but I did just read Identity Crisis 7... and let me say this.
When I got back in to comic collecting a bit back I decided I wouldn't by any of these special group books, or crossover books because generally what happens at the end means absolutely DICK for the individual characters in their own respective books. Sure a new villian might pop up again at some point but for the most part nothing changes. So I didn't pick up the DC/Marvel cross JLA/Avengers... well that and because all the noses look weird on the covers. IC was advertised as something that would shock you to the core... and here is the final issue in what has admittedly been an interesting whodunit.
WHAT THE FUCK DC!!!!! THIS IS THE FUCKIN ENDING YOU COME UP WITH. YOU'VE JUST FUCKED ME IN THE ASS....AGAIN!!!!! NO MORE GODDAMIT NO MORE!!!
<ahem> Rant over... hopefully I'll enjoy the rest of the stuff I picked up today.
EDIT:
Rest of this weeks thoughts...
Batman: Gotham Knights 60: This Ivy vs. Uma Thurman... now don't get me wrong I liked Kill Bill... but this Ivy kicks Uma's ass.
I enjoyed Hush.. I know alot of you didn't and we'll leave it at that... however he's been just kinda drifting in and out of storylines in the background since the big one...BTW why is someone where O's uniform in this story? What did I miss? Anyway this story drops a pretty big twist, and dammit I'm actually interested in where this one is goin...
Birds of Prey 77: Well....Bab's is going off the deep end... but hey at least I'm curious about the extent of Harvest's powers.
Green Lantern: Rebirth 3: Ganthet vs. Kilowog? Poor Kilowog... nicely drawn and Really Kilo had NO chance. Well the origin of Parallax is... interesting... I'm usually not a fan of retconning but well I so love the Hal Jordan character... and I like the explanation for the yellow impurity issue... and Jordan's various acts over the years. Somebody at least did a bit o homework... and what a way to bring back a favorite Hal villan... But really my biggest beef is that this gets Hal off the hook totally... my enjoyment of the Parallax character was that it was Hal gone off the deep end, drunk with power and determined to remake things the way he saw fit... a faulty human. Now... oh well it wasn't his fault.... bah . <sigh> Oh well guess I can't have it both ways if I want Jordan back as a GL.
Robin 133: God I still hate this art... and it's too convenient that Penguin has relocated to the same friggin town... but hey I guess Batgirl and Robin are gonna need a major villan, well at least until one of their own is created...
Wolverine 23: Jesus Christ this art hurts my soul... and some of the stuff they have Wolverine doing(at least written that he did), so meh... oh well at least there's only two more parts to this crazy storyline... oh and don't get me started on Ms. Von Strucker... wtf.
Wonder Woman 211: Now here is a storyline with potential. I bought all the back issues to the current storyline so I'd be up on it... we know she'll heal eventually but it'll be interesting to see the path they take her on to get there...
Richard Dragon 8: This book is a guilty pleasure... somehow the absurdity of the fact that this character helped to train Bruce and the attempt at martial arts background somehow keeps me reading it...and well.. let's just keep it at that....
X-men 165: Holiday issue... X-men generally has nice warm feeling holiday issues and this one pretty much fits that bill... it fiddles with current continuity a bit... but what else is new. Nice touch to slide Magneto and Charles in there.
Astonishing 7: I really like Beer... my god that line in context is the funniest thing I've read in quite a while... umm I have no idea what happened... thanks.
