So wait, is it true that the Absolute Batman and Robin from Morrison would create a switching issue, and if so how bad? Was looking into an order to check how much was missing from the two Absolutes out right now, and it looks like one more would probably do it, but apparently that may require switching between books midway through due to reading order, which may scuttle my idea of maybe grabbing it in the format. If so, that's a real shame...

Casting a method actor as the Joker might not have been the safest move in the world.

Apparently the issue is that Return of Bruce Wayne should come before B&R 16 but isn't in the Absolute. Not sure how big of an issue that causes, as it's been a while since I read the run.
Edit: This is off a random thread found on the internet, so no idea how accurate that information is, btw.

Following up on the "how bad is this/is this accurate" question, does this also occur in the trades and stuff? Trying to decide with this stuff... (Also wish there was already a RIP or whatever Absolute solicited so I could know for sure the set would be completed).

Just sat down and read 5,000 KM per Second.

Absolutely loved it. It's very mature and really captures the essence of growing up and growing apart from people (friends, family, loved ones) and just feels incredibly sincere and down to earth. It's a bit short for what it costs, but it's just fantastic. You really feel a variety of emotions throughout and the art really helps with that. Fior makes use of different color palettes for the various settings and it works very well. Easy to see why it won a lot of awards in Europe.

Can't praise it enough, check it out!

they were published concurrently, yeah, so there's a point before B&R's last issue where it makes sense to go back and forth between them

DC should have always just done a "here's a bunch of books labeled 1-6 that you can read if you want to know what the fuss about Morrison Batman is" instead of fucking around with a million different formats/series/rereleases

Right? And then imagine that except with an employee discount on top of it. Pretty much everything I buy from there is less than $10. It's great.

Yeah... That was the point... I'm not good at this whole not working too much thing. It'll be worth it though. I mean, either I'll find out that it's not something I want to do and I'll drop it and only be working 40 hours a week at Banana Republic, or I'll find out it's something I want to do and drop Banana Republic and only be working 40 hours a week at that job. So it'll just be temporary working both jobs. Probably...

But yeah, I have a healthy skepticism about the amount of money. I talked to the guy for an hour though and he was incredibly honest about everything and fully explained the commissions and percentages and all that and it all added up, so who knows.

It's basically a cosmic force of nature incarnate, but it's unclear as to where on the cosmic hierarchy it is. It can match the Odinforce at the very least.

Absolutely. Currently one of the best ANAD books. Here's what I've read of him, and I'm stretching it to everything I've read with him in it:

Captain America and the Mighty Avengers
Alias
Bendis' Daredevil
Age of Ultron
A couple issues of Bendis' New Avengers
A couple issues of Mighty Avengers.
Axis


So any actual series with him in the focus would be aces. I'm most likely going to jump into New Avengers (I liked the issues of it I've read and I like Bendis) and Mighty Avengers (even with Land on art, the issues I read were solid). I've also heard he has a MAX series that's supposed to be pretty good, yeah? Any other suggestions would be great.

Also - if you have cold feet about moving to NH, maybe you can try a 6 month trial? Lots of student accommodations do offer 6 month leases.

Jim Lee/Rob Williams on Suicide Squad Rebirth.

Just after the film's release this August, DC Comics will kick off a new "Suicide Squad" series by Rob Williams, Jim Lee and Philip Tan. However, when the team returns following "Rebirth," they'll have a brand new member.

"One of these characters will be joining the team:
Doomsday, Mr. Mxyzptlk or General Zod
," Williams teased in the DC Comics Preview catalog.

Lee went on to discuss what he enjoys about the character and what drew him to the series, saying, "I love that they're all lovable losers. These are villains not good enough to escape Amanda Waller, but who have enormous responsibility. I love the idea they could possibly redeem themselves."

"Unlike a lot of franchise books, the premise of 'Suicide Squad' allows for characters to be killed. That brings a gravity to every situation that's distinguishable from the rest of the line," he added.

He also shared his excitement to work with Harley Quinn. "The fun with Harley is you can put her in different outfits," he explained. "My goal is to have her in a different red-and-black costume for every mission. It's more about the needs of the mission, not a costume that can be easily recognized by the public."

"I've found an interesting visual pairing with Harley and Killer Croc," he continued. "For whatever reason, it just feels right to me."

"I'm really looking forward to doing some cool choreography with Katana. I think she's a character that is going to bust out in a big way," he said.

The new character on the team sounds fairly interesting in a...holy shit why are they in that team kind of way.

I don't like remakes and don't care about added story moments in a ratchet remake when i stopped caring about the franchise a long time ago, but I'll still rent it.

I've been kind of nostalgic for an older style 3d platformer/actiony game so I'm excited to hear it's good. Makes it better that I've never played a Ratchet game before.

New Content updates for Destiny and The Division launched this week.

Destiny's new update was seriously oversold with those livestreams.

Caught up with Rumble and Copperhead, both with strong conclusions to their second arcs, only to find they've been on break for months with Copperhead not even having new issues solicited yet :(

At least Rumble is back in a couple of months.

It's such a weird stop gap update that seemed to be made in Panic mode after the real DLC got delayed or put into the sequel.

The first two Raids and the gear to go with it is still useless and at year one levels. The same goes for the Queen, Hive, and Fallen weapon sets which were pretty interesting.

The new update is just two new Prison of Elder levels, one pitiful quest line and micro transaction bait.

So I bought only my second original art page from one of my favorite artist, Juan Ferreyra. This particular page is from New Suicide Squad #18 p3. It only cost $120! If your not familar with Juan, he pencils, blacks, and water colors on paper and then scans it in Photoshop and adds effects.

Well guys, got the results of my CT scan this morning.

Not good. They identified several additional abnormal lymph nodes. Going to talk to an endocrinologist to discuss what to do now in a couple hours here. My internist said biopsy is probably the next step.
