Just noticed the Flash and Superman's Action Comics' Deluxe Editions are out on IST. Do we know how limited they will be? Are they going to be similar to Marvel's and Image's Deluxe Editions in numbers?
How was Action Comics compared to the other Superman titles? I cant remember which one was about Superman and his family.
Not sure if I need to get my order in asap or if I can wait a bit.

Almost every Secret Empire issue can be summed up as this
-Something happens, heroes come together
-They get jobbed out to Hydra Steve
-Someone dies
-Heroes retreat
-Steve gloats how America is working under HYDRA
-Big reveal last page
EVERY FUCKING ISSUE.
Adventure Comics: Zod is a really compelling villain. I generally enjoy his appearances and I hope part of the ramifications of Flashpoint is him being put back in play.
All Star Batman: Instead of Gotham, they should have made a show about young Alfred. The mythos they are building for him in this arc is my fave.
Batgirl: "I follow lots of celebrity dogs, and he's the best" No Esme, you're the best.
Black Panther: This comic is everything. Man, Coates is k i l l i n g it. "It is not too late to recover your own name." If Black Panther 2018 is half as good as this comic, it will be easily the best comic adaptation in 20 years at least.
Captain Sam oh, don't read this til after Secret Empire 7.
Secret Empire: I dunno. I'm coming around on Carol. I can get behind a fuckup character who's trying their damnedest to fix their mistakes. Also
Avril's not dead! YAY!!
Why can't America get them back again? Pretty sure she *should* be capable of portalling through the shield. I like Natasha being sentimental. Oh, THAT'S why you have to read SE before Cap Sam. What an ending.
Remember Ant-Man, remember how it basically shitted on Scott in the second half just because no one was sure his movie would be a hit and then it was and then Spencer had no idea what to do since he got Cap Steve?
BPRD: The Devil You Know #1 was pretty damn awesome. Hard to say how much of a jumping on point it really is, there's a fair argument this book should just be #148. Like Ty said on the previous page, this is very much a building blocks, show you where everyone is at and set the stage issue but there was some great stuff within that. Allie manages to tap into the human side of the apocalypse that Arcudi did so well, and in his own Abe book, and they manage to keep you guessing about the nature of the expedition to a decent degree. Plus crickets lol, Campbell & Stewart are a dream visually on these books.
Some thoughts. I've tagged all the actual spoilers but in general this is discussion for anyone interested that's read the issue so just skip over if you're tradewaiting.
- Ashley Strode is finally coming into the foreground. That's cool and the nature of her expertise dials right in to some big questions that have went unanswered
about hell
- The team are
wearing the armor from the King Of Fear dream/future sequence! Allie kind of debunked that as a plot thread recently in an interview and yet here we have more elements of that appearing after Devon starting body building at the end of last series lol. Was he trying to throw people off? Maybe...
- Not entirely convinced there isn't some misdirection going on regarding the dreams. We're supposed to assume it's
Varvara
, especially given her crowd at the end, but the little girl is holding someone's hand in the dream. It could be connected to
Fenix and the little girl is Eris, or Maggie & her mom/the followers of the red hand from Abe
. I expect more of Allie's plot threads to crop up from the past so that would make sense.
- Speaking of dreams,
Buster is pulling a body out of the ground at the old BPRD headquarters - what is that symbolism for??
- Poor Abe lol.
Last time he was mortally wounded, he changed - looks like it's happening again. The monsters tried to take his body to the Odru Hem's carcass too, more forces trying to claim Abe for their version of the future
How amazing would it be if the big reveal at the end is that... there *is* no reveal. Cap is an evil asshole, there's no magic "surprise, he was a good guy and everything is back to normal!" moment. Everyone's that's dead? Totally dead. Generations and Legacy one shots should bring back the classic characters that the older comic fans love... and have Hydra kill them all. Burn it all to the ground.
This needs to end with Cap bodyslamming the leaders of the resistance in the middle of a wrestling ring and spraypainting a silver Hydra logo on their backs while C-list heroes in the stands bury the ring in thrown garbage.
I really wonder how all this stuff from Civil War II to Secert Empire will be out back in the box. This story seems like it's written in such a way that the ending can't be anything other than a huge ass pull.

Stole the words right out of my mouth. What a joke lol. I mean how many good characters will be left before they need to do another "Generations" event.
lol of course. Do fuck all with the character for years (Gillen wanted to use him in Young Avengers at some point iirc but was told he couldn't because reasons) then shelf him.
Thanos continues to be my favourite comic. Hope Donny Cates' run is as good as Lemire's. Infamous Iron Man was pretty good too and I like where Black Panther is going.
