I'm not even bummed in a rejection kind of way (And I don't think that was the intention on her end either. I just asked her to coffee in such a casual way - like, "Hey, we should get coffee sometime this weekend!" - that she probably didn't feel like she was really cancelling on a plan. Dunno), I'm mostly bummed because I was so excited all weekend to get to hang out with her outside of the bouldering gym. I'm sure it'll happen sometime soon though. Probably next weekend or possibly even Tuesday. Plus I'm seeing her tomorrow at the bouldering gym anyways.
But yeah. Lame.
Oh well, now I have more time to read (normal books, not comics; don't get too excited) and tune my piano today.
Every time I talk about "tuning my piano" I feel like everyone must think it's a euphemism.

Okay: Convergence: Matrix Supergirl ended up being waaaaaaaaaay more fun than I expected. Randomly pausing in the middle of the fight to beat the shit out of Lex (her opponent even pausing for her to do so, graciously, lol) was just golden.

Sorry, dude. People dropping scheduled plans with someone to do something with someone else is always messed up. And your mom has to be the easiest person on the planet to turn down/re-schedule with. Like, come on.

Johns said in a DC All Access video that Vol. 3 could be out in 2016 (possibly early 2016). He's already finished with half of the script, and Gary Frank has already drawn some of that.

And being that I'm not someone to go back on my word, I picked up Animal Man again. I reread issue 5 since I know it's a tim-classic, and it was a fun little story. Onto the next issue which is where I stopped, I guess Hawkgirl is in it?

Yeah Earth 2 is radically different, no relation to the Earth One imprints. Go with Snyder if you're looking for a bat fix like the other person recommended, though if you like Earth One Batman check out Geoff John's other works. Curse of Shazam (no Batman) might be up your alley. Forever Evil (some Batman) as well. Johns has a sense of fun that comes across all of his stories and crazy reveals.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt 1) because she didn't know exactly when she'd be free this weekend since she was buying a car this weekend so I just told her to let me know whenever she's free and we'd get coffee (AKA it wasn't a super set-in-stone plan or something) and 2) because I really like her so of course I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Haha
But yeah... it's pretty easy to turn down/reschedule with your mother. Oh well.

Yeah! It's really time consuming, requires meticulousness, and there's a bit of an art to it since you do it all by ear rather than with an electronic tuner or something (you basically listen to the beats per second that certain intervals make to know whether or not you've tuned something right; it's pretty cool). It's so satisfying though.
I'd love to be able to do it as a job once I get good enough at it.
Thanks for the condolences. And yeah, I'm pretty sure we'll figure out a re-schedule, so I'm not worrying about it too much. Just a bit disappointing.
Oh and also, I'm pretty sure the fact that we'll be hanging out at the bouldering gym tomorrow played some part in her feeling like it wasn't too horrible of a thing to cancel on me. To back up that theory, she said in the text "But I'll see you tomorrow at the bouldering gym, right?" or something like that.

I have the first two trades for former on order and BHSC for the latter. And hey, at least one of those is even still actively coming out with issues so I'll that going for me too!
Well, reasonable prices for the trades, so I'll take a look through those.

Issue 6 of Animal Man was also good. Loved the end where you see the Hawkguy's life flashing by while Buddy is desperately trying to stop this bomb and Hawkman just comes and turns it off lol
So guys, I just randomly found a one-shot on Marvel Unlimited called Eminem and Punisher. As you would expect, it is literally the funniest thing ever, with Em not having a single sentence without censored swearing and freaking out when Frank shows up. Seriously, I couldn't stop laughing.

The next issue is pretty messed up, especially the end.
I would describe them both as actively coming out. Sex criminals just takes breaks at the end of arcs. Kind of like Saga. Saga still actively comes out right?

Ha, I just read that one. I really liked how the Red Mask's flashback was drawn and colored. Being completely black and white with some red thrown in looked really nice. The ending was definitely twisted but it his conversation with Buddy before that was pretty funny with him saying "well, you don't LOOK like a bad guy to me..."
