I said it. I think Cyborg is boring.

They should have just followed the DCAU's lead and made John Stewart the main GL for the New 52. It's not like most people don't think John's the main one already anyway.

Leave Cyborg in the Titans, especially with the 900 episodes of Teen Titans Go that CN's gotta fit in every day.

I'm contemplating getting the bluray for 20 Pounds but am tight on money this month :X

It was really good, but I don't know if it was £20 good. The boss at the cinema still gives me a discount until the end of the year so I only spent €5 (that's for concerts/plays/special screenings, regular movies are free) plus a few snacks that I brought myself.

I wanted to say something, but I would bet a large sum of money I was the oldest person there and I didn't really want to draw attention to that. The dank reddit memes were out in force.

There were also two kids in my row calling the final fight like they were JR and the King and I was cracking up.

this sounded horrible in every way up until this last part, which sounds amazing

Cyborg is not top tier . I have to agree.
But DC shills him like he is.

Stewart is far less boring than Hal.
Character or the solo book? Because I'm not so hot on the character, but if his solo is decent, I'll check it out.

The character. I haven't bothered to read the book because I find the character boring.

Hal Jordan was only interesting when he was the Spectre, IMO.

There was a really great fill-in issue of JLA where he sends the League through bad decisions they either did make (Superman using the gold Kryptonite) or couldn't make (Batman killing his villains) and, for some reason I can't recall, they end up in the Joker's mind, which for some reason is filled with an ordinary couple. It blew my mind as a kid.

Man, Justice League is really freaking good right now. After a rough first year it's been getting better since Throne of Atlantis and has been firing on all cylinders since Forever Evil ended. This month's issue was bonkers, I'm glad I didn't have any of it spoiled ahead of time

*brofist*

Hal's journey from stalwart hero to maniacal villain to guilty soul seeking atonement is the closest the character has ever gotten to being deep.

Least he's better than Barry "I literally have no personality" Allen.

My favourite scene ever with Barry and Hal was the one in JLA/Avengers where they both realise they're going to die in the future, but they're okay with it because with Kyle and Wally, their legacies are in safe hands. Even Wally when he gets taken out of the final fight, comes back and reacts with "Was....was Barry just here?" gave me feels before I knew what those were.

PlayStation, more like Lamestation am I right guys?

Not wrong, tbh. Jaime is Cyborg done right.

Dammit, DC, bring him out from whatever hole you throw characters that Johns wants to replace with their Silver Age equivalents.

Solo is decent. Not great, but has some interesting stuff going on in terms of worldbuilding.

getting motivated to read comics is hard sometimes, maybe if they didn't have any words...

I'm getting into the " i dont' want to hop between worlds like this" feeling, same as with tv since i'm giving a few shows a try at once and i would rather just have some sense of continuation than juggling. I tend not to switch up games, I get one play it until i'm done or bored and then start another eventually, i don't play one level each of ten different games in a rotation.

What's boring about Hal? I like Hal.

I like Hal, Kyle will always be the best Lantern but Hal is pretty cool as well. John is pretty boring in the comics and I've never really read much of Guy to form an opinion about him outside of that one time Batman knocked him out.

Games take longer in general, though. A single issue comic takes, what, 5-10 minutes?

I have to finish Mad Max before Transformers: Devastation comes out though. Don't want another unfinished open world game.

Saints #1 will probably be the best book that releases next week that nobody will read.

Award-winning playwright and This American Life personality SEAN LEWIS teams with red-hot artist BENJAMIN MACKEY for an all-new ONGOING SERIES! Dexter-style action collides with a Preacher-esque sensibility in this crime/horror series for mature readers. Blaise, Lucy, and Sebastian discover a Holy War is erupting and they, unwittingly, are the next generation of Saints poised to fight for a heaven that God has abandoned. The occult rises in a spectacular, action-packed first issue crammed full of heavy metal, sex, and deadly one-liners. - See more at: https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/saints-1#sthash.P7z1fEQ2.dpuf

sounds interesting

Oh the bluray is for BoG+RoF bundle and is 20 Pounds.
As a DBZ fan I'ma get it cuz the movies are fun, long as you don't have high expectations, DBZ is a fun series to watch :)

Finished the first arc of Black Science. Wtf Remnder, why do you do these things?

Also picked up Archie, Revival and From Under Mountains today. Have read none of them yet..

Hmm, i think i worded it poorly. I heard not so much it's a lesser comic in terms of it's generally bad etc but compared to later issues/arcs etc. Sounds pretty amazing anyway. A glut of comics just as uni starts...how wonderful.

Ugh, I am familiar with this feeling. In fact, I'm living it right now. So much work to do and so little time to actually keep up to date with reading.

That sounds weird, and it doesn't really make much sense. Then again I haven't read either series.

That's what I thought. It serves no purpose. I wonder if it's a mistake on the part of the writer or artist. The Red Lanterns run took some time to hit its stride, but was not that bad that it needed to be wiped clean.

The lamest Titan.

I said it. I think Cyborg is boring.

I'm a fan of Cyborg. He has been written blandly before, but he's a character worth exploring and who can only benefit from more exposure.

Next Wednesday.

I can't imagine this not being seriously fucking good.

Anyway, Splinter the gawd is on the cover of the TMNT IDW Collection vol. 2 (up on Amazon):

uDMBfZU.jpg

Volume 2 collects issues #13-20 of the ongoing series, the Casey Jones, April, Fugitoid, Krang, and Baxter Stockman Micro-Series issues, and the Secret History of the Foot Clan mini-series.

February 2016.

Wanna shit on poor practices, I'm all for it. DC's friction with J.H. Williams III on Batwoman? Marvel letting Edmondson of all people tackle their Red Wolf solo book? Sure, fuck that. Reports of both of the big two protecting a handful of skeezy fuckbags? Double fuck that.

But I'm also not interested in getting into some list-war of which publisher is better or worse, boiling down to boring posts like "MARVEL STAYS LOSING" or "FUCK THE NU52, NEVER READING DC AGAIN!" I'd rather talk about creative teams making good shit (or not) than some broad commentary on line-wide publisher initiatives.

If upper management makes a move like actively trying to increase diversity among creators or actively choosing to go more hands-off on creators' works for the sake of pushing for creative storytelling, let's champion that. Good for them. But trying to quantify each publishers' value against another is pointless.

Didn't get a chance to respond earlier, but well said.
