I'll believe that went the internet is reduced to rubble.PhoncipleBone said:I would not call it underrated. If anything, it is overrated..

I'm think season one was getting to the point where they even knew that the show could do those kinds of things, season two is seeing the different kind of things it can do, and season three will bring everything together cohesively and push the boundaries of the show overall instead of differing in creative intention from week to week.PhoncipleBone said:I would not call it underrated. As a whole, season 2 was fantastic, but the unevenness does bother me. I am looking forward to watching it again soon to see how it holds up upon a second viewing.
Medalion said:The show cannot be overrated when it's struggling for recognition and viewership on a regular basis.
Agreed. Episodes like Halloween and Jesus Abed really stuck out sorely to me.PhoncipleBone said:Tell that to a Joss Whedon fan.
There were many gems in season 2 of Community, but some of the episodes were trying too hard to be "different" and failed because of it. The show is at its best when it balances the real and the absurd.
Yeah, for sure. I remember liking the episode with Troy's birthday, among a few others. But overall, the overly spastic tone started to grate on me a little. And the characters kinda left me cold, for some reason that I can't quite pinpoint.SpeedingUptoStop said:There's a lot of gems in S2 and a lot of worthwhile experimentation. ...not that we're allowed to use things like that outside of the thread, of course.
I just love that the show has the freedom to put the characters into virtually any situation and allow the inter-personal dynamics to work their magic...be it Britta dating a war criminal, or being trapped on a spaceship simulator from the buttermilk nebula (...wait....that's just a sticker).
Yeah, Mixology Certification is probably the show at its best (so far).Catalix said:Yeah, for sure. I remember liking the episode with Troy's birthday, among a few others.

BTW, in post #45, bottom picture, what is on Abed's shirt? The multicolored guys?
Also, I used to say "Cool. Cooloolcool." all the time, before I saw Community. Now, whenever I say it, people think I'm copying Abed.![]()

"Cool."
I see what you did there, Mel. Or River.cory. said:You've got a time machine, I've got Illustrator. What the hell, let's kill Comic Sans.
It's his default look. of course he's rocking that cocksure grinSpeedingUptoStop said:Winger rocking the real smug face in the OP banner.
Side note: Abed could never get into Doctor Who, he would be consumed with obsession, especially if he got into old Who. I could not buy Abed making a DW reference without establishing that he just got into it, but then they would have to make up a reason to make him not like it anymore by the end of the episode, or else they would have to make him reference DW every week to stay realistic.PhoncipleBone said:I see what you did there, Mel. When in doubt, wikipediaSuperimposer said:Should've seen that coming... but nah, I really suck at watching TV shows again, playing games again etc.
Wright's too big of a name, unfortunately.ezekial45 said:I'm so glad they got another season. I really love every character on the show. There's not a single one i don't like.
Anyway, I'm wondering who they've got directing this season. The Richard Ayoade directed episode was awesome. I still wish we'll eventually get an Edgar Wright directed episode. That would be perfect.
