I wanna get a new sound card (I'm still on a creative live! one) and a new set of speakers. For the speakers I'll get a pair of Creative Inspire T7700 7.1 Speakers but for the sound card, I'm undecided between the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum or SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS. What's the difference 'cept the price? The ZS is $129 CAD and the platinum is $239 CAD. Is it worth to shell out an extra $110 for it? Thanks.

Oh and if it's not complicated as it is, there's a gamer version at $159 CAD.

I dunno, drivers aren't Creative's strong point. I regret buying a Audigy 2 years ago, the problems I've had with EAX not working in games, not being able to set up TeamSpeak and other shit

Audigy is a good product, but I'm never allowing another Creative product onto my computer (mainly due to drivers). Especially when there are excellent alternatives these days.

There's lots of people complaining about creative's drivers these past few years but for me, they were spot on all those years so...

Always used a creative card in my computer but someday it might change but not now, audigy 2 zs is the best card there is.

I'm looking for something that's going to be loud as a motherfucker if I want it to be with no crackling or anything. I have problems with my current speakers if I have the volume at 100% and I'm playing music.

Also, I'm looking for something I might be able to hook my TV's audio into for a great gaming experience.

To actually answer a question from the starting post, the primary difference between platnum and nonplatnum is that plantum has a front connections panel and remote control.

I also noticed that the Creative ones have a bigger frequenct response. How does this affect things?

edit: And I'm also looking for the best overall value. The best quality for price, as I'm sure these are all pretty good speakers.
