I saw the full Grindhouse on The Movie Network in Canada a couple of weeks ago, so if anyone in Canada is interested they can also check there.

I got to see it last Friday on the big screen. I was absolutely gutted when they split the releases up over here (UK) but was glad I waited because I finally got to see both movies and all the trailers as they were originally intended to be shown. I loved both movies. I knew I'd enjoy Planet Terror but was surprised just how awesome Death Proof was (having heard how bad it was from others.) The fake trailers were fucking awesome as well, especially the Machete one:lol

I just missed the HD broadcast on Starz....didn't think to bother looking because all of last month they were just showing the films seperately from what I saw
...now I have to watch them in SD....oh well, at least my wife finally gets to see it as it's supposed to be seen (still refuse to netflix the 2 DVDs without the trailers)

I missed the first 20 minutes of Planet Terror, but I recorded the rest. Good to see they showed it in the correct aspect ratio on Starz HD.

I saw it @ the Grauman's Chinese Theater opening night and it was one of the best moviegoing experiences ever, house packed to the brim, everybody was completely into it, and then last January I saw it again at a real grindhouse style theater in beverly hills (a contradiction, I know.. there was even water leaking from the ceiling due to the rain). The crazy thing is that at this 2nd showing, the film ACTUALLY FUCKING BURNED UP during Planet Terror and most of us thought it was the part of the movie where it did that, but we could hear the projector making a loud grinding noise though. We kicked it in the lobby for 20 minutes until they fixed it. It was definitely a true grindhouse experience.

I take it that since this like what we saw in theaters neither movie is the extended cut.
It's a shame because the extended version of Death Proof I saw on (i think) Starz was terrific. Much better than the theater cut.
