Complete quests in PS Home get access to Killzone: Mercenary Beta and more

Oh, then I'm thinking of E3 2011 then. Because those rewards were nice from a "finally, I can decorate my apartment" perspective.

I didn't do last years in that case because I was tired of Home not giving "free-only"/leechers like me some decent stuff. They did it when Home first "launched"/open-beta'd be it seems like they finally just stopped caring about giving free items out that weren't outfits (if they ever gave anything not outfits out!) and just made everything PAY PAY PAY since the rest of the community didn't care and would spend $5-15 on a gold cash-falling-off-them outfit. :/

well..... I just might have to use Home again for the first time in forever >_< I kinda want those exclusive dynamic themes for Last of Us and Beyond :(

IMO the biggest news here is the free 30 days of PS+ just for completing a quest next week in the virtual E3 booth. You get a code even if you're a current PS+ subscriber. That means you get these five games for free, just for checking out Home:

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PS3)
  • Machinarium (PS3)
  • Saints Row: The Third (PS3)
  • Gods Eater Burst (PSP, PS Vita Compatible)
  • Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward (PS Vita)

That should get a hell of a lot of new people into Home next week.
Good lord. I should update the PS3 since I'll need to play Last of Us eventually.
Destiny dynamic theme is probably super amazing.

Not arguing that, but how do we know Home is making Sony a "LOT" of money? Just curious.

They've hinted at it several times.

Also, it hasn't closed yet and keeps getting updated with content.

Yeah, it not being closed yet doesnt necessarily mean it makes them a "LOT" of money though. Just that they arent losing money on it.

So I'm running around Home for the first time ever.

Where do you find this Virtual E3 booth to register?
Or is it not available yet?

Which is why I didn't say just that.

"Quite profitable" doesn't exactly hint at "not losing money on it"

Alright, was just curious whether we "know" more than that.

Apparently US only, you need to download the E3 booth from the main menu.

But we cannot access the area yet, right? It only gave me a e3 badge and kicked me out again now.

Yes I'm using my US account, thanks I see the booth in the menu.

So we cant actually get anything now, right? Its just preregistering and the themes/quests are live on 11/06?

Seems that way, I hope they're open for a day or two at least. I'm going to be at work during the main Sony E3 conference.

Weird though, since it says "Pre-register for a dynamic theme", makes it seem like we'd get the theme just for pre-registering.

Wasn't last year the first time they actually gave something not an outfit out? I remember them giving some furniture out either last E3 or the one after the Tron outfit (so 2011?).

Sony also did some Make.Believe branded stuff like a drumkit and posters that same year. It was nice, because they NEVER gave free-only people a bone in regards to decorating their homes with stuff that wasn't paid-for-store-glitches.

That Dual Shock 3 coffee table is pretty nice, you have to admit.

I've got quite a lot of free stuff from home, the Audi Apartment, The Batcave, The Tree House apartment and I think it was a riverside penthouse or something...

Clothing I think I have the tron outfit, the snow breaker one, echochrome, singstar tops and the Christmas outfits too

Plus lots of arcade machines after downloading the Namco museum demo from the Jap Store and getting the highscores. They also boot straight in to the games from their respective machines too. Also items from Buzz and other games too.

The booth will be up for a week. You have until Thursday (unless they changed the update time from when I last was there) the NEXT week from E3 (after they update for E3 on Monday, next week IIRC) to do EVERYTHING/all quests in the E3 area.

The free apartments are rare. The Batcave was a in-game reward (which ironically stopped happening. Sup Capcom not doing it for Bio6 despite Bio5 having it?). The Audi apartment was EU only. I'm talking the US.

The US region got two free (crap really since they're graphically weaker than the premium) apartments. They haven't given ANYTHING like that out in years beyond those two which were within the first 2-3 years of Home being open.

Costumes they've given TONS out but that isn't anything more than T-shirts mostly. Pants? Shoes? Nope, can't give you those unless it's a holiday themed one.

Apartment Decorations? NOPE CAN'T GIVE YOU THOSE except extremely rarely.

US Home's rewards are 99% Outfits 1% something else. It's why I stopped going. My wardrobe is swimming in stuff but I don't care about that, no one uses their private space because no one is getting things to fill it out beyond the "default" white furniture for the default apartment. So why should people invite people there?

Has this started or will it start at E3?

Apparently you need to pre-register now for a free theme (which you'll get later) and then the actual quests start at 11/06.

The OP should put that as the first line.

Yeah it's pretty bad. But I will bare with it to get these prizes!

Damn shit froze on me several times when it was timing out.

I wonder how exactly do you pre-register. I tried going to the E3 booth, but it just redirects me back to the hub. And all the prompts say that you have to go to the booth to pre-register. Well, hopefully that redirect does that.

When you first downloaded the booth, it should have told you "Congratulations, you have preregistered for E3 at Home!" or something. "You have received a digital badge/token/whatever and when you come back on Monday, you will receive your digital theme."

Then it redirects you back to wherever you were before.

There was some message, but it was there for less than a second and then it got blurred. Alright then.

Don't know if it's working now, but there has been problems with this. People not getting codes after doing the "quests" and then the whole thing reseting if they exit the e3 booth (even to another area of Home).

Yeah, I've been having some issues. My codes aren't showing up. It says "Failed to download voucher code". Also I got disconnected once after doing a few missions and had to redo them. Hopefully they fix this soon.

So I'm running into the "failed to download" problem.

Do quests reset when you exit HOME? Is there any fix where I wouldn't have to do that all over again?

Yep, they do. No fix yet, I tried to wait in Home for a while and ended up getting logged out from PSN for some reason anyway.

Ugh, I don't know what to do.

I want to download Uncharted 3 and the new Tekken (I think they're up now, right?) but I want to get this shit I got. I spoiled The Last of Us for that theme.

Yep, this happened to me. Did all of the quests except for the watch the E3 theater for 30 mins. Switched to the E3 theater, did the 30 mins, went back with that quest completed and all the other quests reset. No codes would load either.

Going to wait a couple of days and try again in hopes it's all fixed.

Dammit I wasted a bunch of time tonight doing all the quests and I got failed to load on every code. I wish they had just emailed the fucking codes to us or something.

Be careful to clear the "30 minutes in the cinema" quest first, because there is a bug causing total deletion of all the previous quest you completed when you exit the cinema room.

You don't loose the rewards but you'll need to do all the quiz and item hunts again.

-edit- oh well, you know already :P

How exactly do you start the quest? I'm confused. I don't see any NPCs. I remember a couple years ago, all you had to do was watch a few videos and it would update automatically.

EDIT:
Never mind.
I had to reload the area. Now the quests are popping up.

You'd be better off just logging off, really. What if they don't fix it in 5-10 hours? It doesn't take that long to complete the quests anyway.

Well, it doesn't matter now cause it decided for me. "Encountered an error" and lost all my stuff. Damn.
