I'm playing Gears of War Reloaded, and it's taking me back to the 360/PS3 era. And it has me thinking of these two cool series.

which series did you guys like more? Which would you like to see remade?

I'm not doing a poll. I'd rather people post.

I'll be honest man, I don't remember either of these.

Condemned, because it's gameplay is more unique. First one was bangers. 2nd one I played too but remember only the bear. Rest is a bit fuzzy. Would have loved to replay it but it's almost impossible to get now.

Oh man. I mean, they were "B" level games, but I had a blast with all of them. Confirmed might go down as a top 5 launch game for me, for all generations.
Just looked up both games, and while I didn't play either, I now definitely remember them. Especially the box art for Condemned, which is honestly iconic.

Watched a little gameplay of each, and they both seem pretty similar, and pretty 2010s horror. Makes me wonder what I'm missing out on.

Any of these on modern consoles? Switch perhaps?

You can play all on Xbox series consoles, I believe. I think they can still be purchased too.

Someday I'll get my broken series X fixed and give these bad boys a try.

I will say this, I don't think a game has ever topped the sound design of Confemed. I had purchased a 5.1 surround sound system for my 360, and the basement level used the surround sound so well. I was freaking out!

I think the ex boss of monolith bought the condemned IP or something, so a remake or even a port can happen without WB nor Monolith existance. I would like a Condemned 1 and 2 remaster with PSVR2 support.

Condemned could do with a full-concept remake. It has a good base.

The Darkness 1 was lightning in a bottle, and the abject horribleness of its sequel proves how nothing could be done to further it, let alone revamp it and make it better. Seriously, the first Darkness game was a (near-)perfect unicorn, and nobody could even replicate it correctly, no matter how hard they tried. That game made me feel miserable in a good way, without actually being miserable to play.

I'd pick the Condemned series. Condemned 2 is the only game I can't play on a modern console. It wasn't as good as the first game, but I remember still liking it and the bear level was awesome.

I replayed The Darkness 1 and 2 last year and remaking those games would've been difficult as they're both very different from each other.

Both series were great, condemned is legendary in my eyes but I really enjoyed the darkness 1 when it released ( 2 not so much).products of that time and cherished memories.

Condemned 1 and 2 would be neat. Never played these games. And seeing that Nightdive are currently trying to get the No One Lives Forever license shit sorted, there might be a chance that they'll do other Monolith Productions games next.

No brainer - of course it's Condemned. First person melee is a rare genre and forensic crime investigation is almost non-existent. Plus once you know that Condemned and FEAR were developed side-by-side at the same office it opens up both games more in terms of observations about how the two games cross-pollinated each other (both games feature mind-controlled enemies, depressing office environments etc.).

The Darkness were just mid. Condemned 1 was brilliant, insane atmosphere and AI.
Condemned 1 did what the fake ass trailer of tlou1 did with the enemy running away, hiding, making sound to attract you and attack you from a blind spot.

Not even the so called best human ai ever (of my ass), mr tlou2 has nothing like that.

Well that fucking explain the enemy ai being so good...

The Darkness is one of my favourite 360 games. The sequel was good, but very different and more of a linear shooter. I'd love to see the first one released on modern platforms with a make over.

Condemned 1 and The Darkness 2.
Second Condemned I've yet to play but Halloween is approaching so I 'll give it a try.
As for the first Darkness game, I've replayed it recently. Cool atmosphere and setup but the gameplay sucks ass. Super frustrating levels , not fun at all.

Condemned was an incredible game. 2 less so, but both as a whole were great.

The atmosphere was rich and felt more like a Silent Hill game than the more modern Silent Hill games.

The Darkness is a weird one as I remember playing it at the time and being blown away. I tried to go back to it about a year ago and it's alright but not the master piece i remember. Maybe I am unfairly just looking at it through today's eyes tho.

Just port or remaster Darkness 1 and Condemned 2 for a native pc version, or the first Condemned for PlayStation...and that's it. Besides that, better waste resources on a sequel or a spiritual successor. Enough with the remake fever.

I liked The Darkness 1 a lot, despite not being faithful to the comics.

Condemned 2 was also a great game. I'd dig a Darkness reboot with realistic graphics and closer plot-wise to the source material, with a crossover with Witchblade.

Shogo MAD - yes please!

Darkness 1 was amazing back in the day. Darkness 2, not so much - and I hated the fact it went cell shaded.

Never played Condemned - maybe I should seek it out?

Probably condemned, because at least the two darkness games can be played on current console hardware.

Condemned 2 is not backwards compatible, sadly.

It's hard to choose, lol. I'd just want the first of both. But the more I think about it, if I had to choose, maybe The Darkness more so... :pie_thinking:

I'm genuinely shocked. The first Darkness and Condemned were talked about for a long while. The sequels, however, were pretty eh. I personally feel like the Condemned one was better than the Darkness one.

Condemned 1 and The Darkness 1.

Condemned 1 has some of the best environmental design and atmosphere.
