I've actually have never played any of them, but I thought the premise was super cool. I think it can be tastefully done today, we don't get enough stealth games. Maybe, maybe with the boat-loads of money GTAVI will make, Rockstar can siphon a mid-sized team and remake the 1st. Judging by how amazing GTAVI and even RDR2 look, a non-open-world Rockstar game would look insane.

Well SEGA only published the games. Monolith Productions developed the games which are the developers of Blood, FEAR, Mordor games, and the woefully underrated No One Lives Forever games.

Condemned was really good. No idea how it holds up but back then, that game was pretty amazing.

Never tried The Darkness. Hated the Hot Topic box art and avoided it.

Neither Condemned 2 nor Darkness 1 came to PC

Condemned was overall a better series as the first AND second game were good.

I didn't care for The Darkness 2 (though I did enjoy the first game).

Condemned. Darkness 1+2 are very easy to run on modern HW and D2 is cell shaded so not really like it could look any better besides a 4K upres.

Yeah D2 remaster is kinda pointless for PC.

I played The Darkness 2 for the first time a couple of years back and had to fiddle a bit to fix v-sync and stutters but once I did it was running at 4K with some really nice transparency super sampling which fixed aliasing even on fine 2d mesh surfaces and the like so the image was ultra clean.

It looked fantastic actually, I really enjoyed that game for the amount of dialogue in the hubs, they would go on for a really long time telling stories or just shit talking you and each other if you wanted to hear it, i found the writing really pulpy and enjoyable.

I would be so happy to see Condemned 1 & 2 to get remakes (and especially have 2 be on PC for the first time ever). There is nothing else like those games.

My vote is Condemned. Their atmosphere was thiiiiccccc on the 360, but they don't hold up graphically nowadays.

Whereas the Darkness games were action-horror, I see Condemned as horror-action, and horror gets a big boost in spooks when the graphics look nice--at least when the art style is going for verisimilitude like Condemned was.

I remember the story was really cool, in hindsight that's probably because it was based off a big comic. Condemned was too intense for me at the time.

The cell shaded-esque graphics of Darkness 2 made me skip it.

I'm glad so many others here liked the series like me. I'm not a huge fan of all the remakes, but it seems like devs these days are creatively bankrupt and can only do remakes. That's why I figured that I might as well and embrace it.

I've thought about it, and I think I'd rather have The Darkness games remade. I think better visuals and tweaking some of the areas (past world war segments) could actually elevate the game even more.
