Here's the description of it from its site:

ConnectFusion Download Accelerator is a very fast open source download manager. It will accelerate your downloads from the Internet and resume broken connections. It includes an easy-to-use interface and its installation does not interfere with the normal behavior of your browser. ConnectFusion Download Accelerator is 100% free, never expires, and does not contain any spyware or advertisement. Its source is freely available to any one who wants to inspect or modify it.

Sidenotes:
---------------

1. I'm just an end user of it.
2. I'm promoting it because it deserves its chance at being made into something more since the developers abandoned it. All great download managers had to start as basic ones. So, this one could be also be great with the right guys working on it.
3. If anyone has any feature requests, etc., please post them on the Github page I linked to and maybe another coder who happens to read this thread/find it on Google will add them/fix it.

I thought this was where anything could be written about. I just thought that one of you could do something with it. Go ahead and delete this thread if its really of no use to you all.

EDIT: It doesn't mess with your protocols. It uses segmented downloading to use as much bandwidth as possible.

It's been a while since I've needed a download manager. The internet speeds nowadays make downloading everything pretty easy.

What do you think about the program yourself? You just put down a bunch of links.

Its a decent attempt at being one. Unfortunately, it crashes when downloading large files, etc. and it doesn't support HTTPS. I do like the fact that you can drag a link from any browser and it'll start downloading immediately.

Actually, its only crashing when downloading a file hosted on d-h.st. I'm trying to download an archived video (1.8 GB in size) that is stored on hitbox.tv with only it stopping for a second or two then starting back up.

...lol

But does it actually go faster?

On a side note, it always weirds me out to see people like OP who are full members and can post threads but have like, ~50 posts because they joined GAF before "junior member" was even a thing.

DownThemAll doesn't suck and integrates well with a modern browser that runs on lots of platforms, but wouldn't be an option if you took a time machine back to 1997.

Well, ConnectFusion could also not suck if someone were to work on it since its source is available at the link in my first post on this thread.

So did you just post this to see if someone could make this program from 2005 better for you?
