DR3 is looking rough. I mean it stings the eyes.

Does his suit texture in the title screen load up every time you boot the game?

I only saw it with environment textures there. The first time I saw it I wasn't even booting the game, just returning to the menu.

There are some obvious last-gen assets but at 1080p and running very smoothly at 60fps, I think the game looks awesome. Just wish it had tessellation and better hair renders.

Cole's jacket looks pretty sweet.

wow i really prefer the look of a yellow leather jacket and white hoody to the silly denim with the badges. sure, it's seattle and grungy but the clean white and yellow really works. i was actually surprised you couldn't change his beanie. not even pre order bonus beanies. beanie dlc incoming?

No idea, can't place the reason. Just looks like a douche and the beanie makes it worse IMO, maybe it's just that specific expression.

its a screen from a clip i made using GameDVR. compressed to hell and back. still, it generally does look pretty rough, im not gonna lie. some nice lighting at night and in the sewers underground though.

lol. some dumb achievement glitch with the newest dlc. had to delete my save (while keeping a copy in the cloud), disconnect from wifi, and start the chapter over from scratch to find all the collectibles (the glitch prevents them from counting toward the achievement).

pro tip though: collectibles give you mad XP. i did learn that much. get them down earlier in the game and you can level up in no time. had only played for an hour and collected a handful and reached that level. or at least, the DLC collectibles.

it looks bad. doesnt help that my images are from compressed GameDVR footage.
720p and jaggies everywhere. not to mention LOD pop up. and a shaky framerate (that to be fair was improved upon greatly in an update)

but its weird. i could never capture the pics to prove this, but the game does have its moments. a weird priority issue with some textures and lighting effects. you zoom in on some of the character models' clothes and you can see that theyre insanely well detailed compared to a lot of the rest of the game.

road flares and other light sources can look pretty good. it varies.

Yeah, I agree with this. It's not very consistent, at times it can actually look pretty good, at others it really doesn't. The characters for instance are really well detailed with high res textures and stuff, but it's a shame it's only 720p so you can't really see the full detail. Light sources are night as well are another high point.

The city in Infamous looks good but it seems that it lacks the awesome lighting GTA5 has. Also, the art direction/environmental design looks inferior. For instance, that crane doesn't look nearly as "real" as the numerous cranes in GTA5.

The infamous screens kind of makes me want a next gen sleeping dogs game.

It actually looks worse blown up to 1080p on your large TV, compressed shots or not. The game has 1:1 middle of the road PS360 par assets and IQ paired with even worse performance. It squanders all the Xbone's power advantage (over last-gen) on running huge crowds of zombies, and does so at sub 20fps much of the time. It is the most technically embarrassing first party game I've experienced in over 25 years of HW launches. Fortunately the actual game is pretty damn fantastic.

His face reminds me of your stereotype smug douche bag, the beanie is the cherry on the cake. Good thing that I'll mostly see his back when playing.

Thanks, time to go hunting for some collectibles. Already did all the side mission which also give you tons of XP.

I am utterly astounded by the antialiasing in Second Son. From the screenshots it looks so far beyond any post process solution I've tried on PC - just look at the water towers in the distance in those shots above!

I really hope that tech gets shared around or is at least used in all Sony studios games.

How well does it hide temporal aliasing?
