Controller recommendations for my setup?

I'm getting a little tired of this with my 8bitdo controller. As soon as the controller disconnects I can't simply turn the controller back on. For some reason it disconnects from Bluetooth as well. I than need to quit out of gfn, go back into my computer setting and resync controller again. I game via my Mac mini via gfn. Does anyone know if this is an issue with any controller I use?

I don't use MAC, but I know the Event Viewer equivalent is Console. Look up bluetooth and your controller related events there

Don't know if the wireless version with it's adaptor will work on Mac, but on pc it's way better than BT for signal stability and usability, and the charging dock it's a game changer

As always, the standard Xbox Wireless controller, it's perfect ( apart from the battery problem, just get a few Eneloops + charger)

Mac? uh, I think Dualsense is better supported but idk, I mean gaming and Mac don't really go hand in hand.

I used to use my Xbox controller on my old iMac before I had to retire it.
Then you get the best controller out too.

I don't know if you can use it on your computer, but the Switch 2 Pro Controller is my favorite modern controller. It is really amazing, excellent sticks, super comfortable, silent, great battery life. No analog triggers though.

Wire it up.

I think some sound solutions have been already suggested like using it wired or checking the event viewer which is actually really handy and Jay's two cents did a video the other day speaking about this. That's why he's a good channel he kind of talks about little menial things but it's things that people forget that we have unfortunately these days with Windows and confidence.

On a side note this gives me a chance to pimp the controller I just bought, the game sir G7 Pro zzz edition. Probably the best controller I've ever had and comes loaded with extras for a really competitive price when it comes to the premium controllers. It has the option to be wired or Bluetooth or with the tongle included so options are good.
