I hate making OTs but the tournament kicks off in an hour and no one else seems to be doing it....
2013 FIFA Confederations Cup
What is it? Its like a mini-world cup, held the year before the world cup with 8 teams.
Its so the host country can practice crowd control etc in their new stadiums. The participating teams also get to try out lineups and such as they attempt to qualify for the world cup. Aside from Tahiti, all these teams will be in the world cup next year.
Who are the teams?
The winners of each continental cup....ie, the EURO, the Gold Cup etc. + the host and the winner of the last world cup.
BRAZIL
SPAIN
JAPAN
MEXICO
URUGUAY
TAHITI < First ever big stage appearance
ITALY
NIGERIA
