TV Shows You’ve Watched Lately |OT| - 2025

To me, the writing falls apart when characters constantly make irrational or self destructive decisions that lack any believable motivation

I lost count of how many times I facepalmed during the first season
Yeah, some characters are beyond annoying...until you get the actual explanation for their behaviour.

I'll give you one single example: the wife. I almost gave up on the show because of that stupid character. Insufferable...right until i was hit in the gut with her actual motive.

The show is absolutely great, you just need patience.

Watchmen is a similar story (non coincidentaly written/runned by the same guy). It's an annoying, irrational crap for 2/3 of the show, than it suddenly becomes a gd damn masterpiece.

I started The Handmaid's Tale, US, not the Korean or whatever was the original.

Really harrowing world they built here. The production values are great, terrific acting, DoP, all that. But plot wise it feels clumsy at times.

Things just don't come together organically at times. But I do enjoy it. It's not a fun watch by any means. I would not recommend this to anyone just looking for a casual watch and forget show.

I forgot, I've been catching up on Shogun. Still a ridiculously good show.

The lead actress may be the prettiest woman in the world - for real.

NotMyProblemAnymoreCunt NotMyProblemAnymoreCunt it happened, I finally finished Dark. And holy shit, what a ride. Overall, I loved it. But it's not the type of show I'd recommend to everyone. You have to put in the work to actually understand everything!

Big spoilers below
The whole season 3, once they open up a second (and eventually third) world, is just ridiculously confusing. Especially when they introduce "duplicate" versions of the alternate versions of Martha. The whole Schrodinger time splits during the loophole moment in the apocalypse still doesn't make total sense to me, in trying to understand how some of those alternate split versions end up in the prime world and timeline…

But beyond all of the sci-fi shenanigans going on, it was just an excellent drama as well. I thought the ending was solid, though it was so cheesy how they thanos-disintegrated out of existence. I was hoping the whole time that they weren't going to handle it with that trope, but I suppose it's the easiest way for the audience to understand.

Part of me was hoping that right after Tannhaus's son turned around in the car (thus preventing the whole time travel paradox), Martha and Jonas would have just instantly disappeared. But I suppose that's not as satisfying for closure.

Anyway, great show. Confusing as fuck, but really enjoyable.

I binged all of The Righteous Gemstones.
Fantastic show from beginning to end.

I loved the last line in that show 👀

Excellent stuff! Tom Hardy fits his roll perfectly. Pierce Brosnan is just disgusting in this. Two thumbs up.

It's very good but has plenty of flaws, at the end it is kind of starting to fall apart, the two elders are like caricatures of themselves and are becoming annoying now and the lose ends get resolved a little too superficially. The show started as serious mob drama and near the end kind of stopped taking itself seriously imo

Some time ago I started watching Mr. Mercedes for the first time and it's another case of a show that should be contained within a single season. Season 1 was really really good and it was a grounded drama about a serial killer messing with a former detective.

I had some ideas what they could do in season 2 considering how things ended, but they went with an absolutely crazy story arc. I don't want to keep going after seeing 2 episodes. It feels like they hired new writers and told them they can write anything they want and from I understand this also moves away completely from Stephen King's book (haven't read it yet).

going through the first season of squid games i think i have a couple episodes left
that indian guy got done dirty why the heck was he so trusting and naive smh bro kinda deserved to lose for letting himself be taken advantage of that easily. show writers made his opponent a huge scumbag lol

Last year I started watching Supernatural and finally finished it last night. It was a show I had never completed before, so I decided to really stick with it. Seasons 1 to 5 are great, strong drama, great writing, just high-quality overall. Seasons 6 to 10 are okay. They don't reach the same level as the earlier seasons, but I still enjoyed them.

But from season 11 onward, the quality really goes downhill. So much random stuff happens, new characters with no personality or impact, and I didn't like the way the show ended at all.

Funny thing is, the same showrunner behind those later seasons, which I think are the weakest, is also the guy who made that Resident Evil show, which was a total disaster in terms of quality.
