How did this pass GAF unblinking eye?
In what must be a relief for him, the 67-year-old comedian Bill Cosby is free and without a single criminal charge against him despite allegations made by a 30-year-old woman. She had accused Cosby of sexually abusing her at his Cheltenham home last year yet evidence was found to be insufficient.
The Canadian native woman became acquainted with the entertainer on Jan 13 last year. She was working in the athletic department at Temple University in Philadelphia. The woman has reported the police in Canada that, she was at Cosby apartment after a night out with friends in January 2004. There she had been tricked in having a medication that made her dizzy. She made accusations that Cosby took advantage of the situation and fondled with her. When she woke up she realized that her bra was undone and her clothes in disarray.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office found that evidence against Cosby was "insufficient."
Authorities found insufficient "credible, and admissible evidence, upon which any charge against Mr. Cosby could be sustained beyond a reasonable doubt," said Montgomery County District Attorney, Bruce Castor.
Castor announced the decision on his Web site and he said that he is not willing to say more on his site as it can be used against his client. "Much exists in this investigation that could be used (by others) to portray persons on both sides of the issue in a less-than-flattering light," he said.
Castor also pointed that the length of time the woman waited to contact authorities the existence of her contact with Cosby even after the incident reduce the chances of criminal charges being filed.
Although another woman had come forward stating that Cosby had behaved inappropriately with her 20 years ago, Castor countered that no one has ever complained law authorities of Cosbys behavior.
