The evil Russians have invented their Zombie creating vaccine. Can't wait for Russia to turn into 28 days later/Last of US/I am legend LOL.

Jokes aside this will be interesting. The first vaccine. Does the world hop on, does science remain skeptical.

I am not following. why you calling them evil ?

Good for them and the rest of the world. if we had to wait for the US to come up with something, we wont be getting shit till probably mid next year. so if this thing cures. then hello hello

I believe KSA, UAE and many other countries right now in that eastern region are taking trails from this russian vaccine and one from China too.

god knows when we will get something in the US/Canada

I am not calling them evil, all though I figure most of the world is going to call them evil. There is already a huge dose of skepticism around this vaccine and I fully expect the west to trash what Russia is doing. Especially in Western Media.

Of course they will trash it. how dare they have smart/ smarter people over there ?

what makes it worse the Trails period in the US takes forever. it's like they wanna test it on every living thing before they test it on a human. and while i understand and appreciate the safety concerns, this virus specially is killing people way more than what a trail of vaccine would do.

If i was on a dying bed because of this virus, and they tell me there is a chance you might make it with the vaccine but we are not 100% sure, ill take it. fuck ill take it even if its 10% chance. I would be dying anyway so where is the harm ?

The media has spent months pre-emptively shaming and smearing all who are hesitant about injecting themselves immediately with the Gates/Fauci vaccine and is now casting dispersion on this because of muh Russia.

Fun fact, this vaccine was approved after only a month worth of human trials with less than a hundred people.

there is also evidence that they stole the design...

Thank GOD the US trial period is so long. That's called ethical science.

This vaccine could kill healthy people or impair them for the rest of their life.
There is a reason for clinical trials.

Let's wait and see how it goes. I don't trust Russia, BUT, I'm pretty sure they were testing this shit on humans from the beginning, and I'm pretty sure they want to capitalize on that REAL BAD. Meaning: They probably really intend and want it to work.

If it works, it works, and I'd use it.

Didn’t go through the proper testing phases. This vaccine was basically approved after successful Phase 1 trials.

There are around 7 potential vaccines in Phase 3 (I believe is the final phase in testing) right now. Those are expect by Q1-2021 (some by Fall 2020).

You guys do realize that the media is deliberately misreporting. No one from Russia has ever said that the first vaccine is now available. Putin has clearly said that it is the first registered vaccine. Everything else is a false translation of malice or stupidity or both. Registration is a prerequisite for Phase 3 testing in Russia. So this is just a normal step towards approval like in any other country.

All this is also clearly stated on the official website: https://sputnikvaccine.com/about-vaccine/clinical-trials/

They've tested it on very few people, over a short period of time. They haven't provided any actual data on the results of the trials they have done. They've only just started Phase 3, and yet from the very site you link "The vaccine has received a registration certificate from the Russian Ministry of Health on August 11 and under emergency rules adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic can be used to vaccinate the population in Russia. Mass production of the vaccine is expected to start in September 2020."
I think people have every right to be skeptical.
If it works, cool. But I personally wouldn't take a vaccine like this until I know.

As an european, I can trust Russia, chiana or India just like America, or according to the notices incoming from the US, I probably won't trust an american vaccine. So I'm ok with it

I'll copy what I wrote in the COVID thread

I would put money on this being the Oxford vaccine. I would also bet that it works and that they have challenge tested volunteers.

That is why they are so confident and have already authorised it. The results of challenge testing the monkeys in April was already a piece of major good news. First phase results have been amazing. If they have hacked oxford, then they have probably seen some of the results from phase II and have the correct dosage.

With all that in mind, they probably just thought fuck it, showed the volunteers that it worked, vaccinated them, checked for anti-bodies and T-cells after 28 days, then proceeded to expose them to the virus. Knowing with almost certainty that it would protect them. There has not been any reported side effects other than a fever (which is pretty common with vaccines anyway), so they skipped phase III and went the quickest route possible.

I would be confident enough with my feelings that this is the Oxford vaccine, that given the opportunity, I would take it.

It will probably be fine. They just changed the vaccine they had created for Mers (that probably had little testing too) to work for SARS-COV-2.
Since it is adenovirus based, the max that can happen is it doing nothing on people that had previous infections with similar adenoviruses.

Pretty funny to see everyone mindset as
Vaccine first from Russia : Doubtful
Vaccine first from US, UK, Canada, or any other country beside Russia : Must be true.

Nobody seem to cheer the fact that the world finally got something because it came from Russia and they bypass some supposed rules to make it happen first. It blow my mind. Like if Russia was having inferior lab peoples.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, finally. Cheer up!

Remember when that Chinese government guy apparently gave himself an experimental vaccine? Is he alive?

I remember a guy from China who was really advanced in the discovery getting murdered? Not sure if it whats your referring to.

nah it was recent. He took an experimental vaccine in the hopes more people would be willing to get it when the time comes.

I'm more or less asking if the vaccine killed him lol

I wonder how much a US big pharma is going to ask per dose if they come up with a vaccine first?

Is it going to bankrupt people or not? Lol

"In a startling and confusing move, Russia claimed today it had approved the world’s first COVID-19 vaccine, as the nation’s Ministry of Health issued what’s called a registration certificate for a vaccine candidate that has been tested in just 76 people. The certificate allows the vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow, to be given to “a small number of citizens from vulnerable groups,” including medical staff and the elderly, a Ministry of Health spokesperson tells ScienceInsider. But the certificate stipulates that the vaccine cannot be used widely until 1 January 2021, presumably after larger clinical trials have been completed."

I don't blame you or anyone. It's the "journalists" who nowadays don't do their jobs (explanations based on real sources, research, ...) for which they are paid. Most journalists today understand their job to be to reinforce and spread their own opinion under all circumstances. 80% of all journalistic articles have nothing to do with journalism. They are either personal opinions or articles at primary school level.
