I would put money on this being the Oxford vaccine. I would also bet that it works and that they have challenge tested volunteers.
That is why they are so confident and have already authorised it. The results of challenge testing the monkeys in April was already a piece of major good news. First phase results have been amazing. If they have hacked oxford, then they have probably seen some of the results from phase II and have the correct dosage.
With all that in mind, they probably just thought fuck it, showed the volunteers that it worked, vaccinated them, checked for anti-bodies and T-cells after 28 days, then proceeded to expose them to the virus. Knowing with almost certainty that it would protect them. There has not been any reported side effects other than a fever (which is pretty common with vaccines anyway), so they skipped phase III and went the quickest route possible.
I would be confident enough with my feelings that this is the Oxford vaccine, that given the opportunity, I would take it.
