Crackdown screens (X360)

well, i think technically speaking it's not bad, even though you cannot currently see the rest of the city and most surfaces are textured with a tiny picture repeated a million times.
And at least it has a very unique style.
Something I like in there (cars, backgrounds, shaders on characters) and something o don't (character design).

Crackdown? they really need to try harder with the names. From the makers of Breakdown? How many GTA style games have been confirmed for th 360? There's tons of em (ok 3-4?)

Looks very odd and very incomplete. Not sure what the point is with the black outline around characters. It's barely noticable. Finally an Xbox 360 game that doesn't have super low res textures though.

flipswitch
Theres APB, Saints Row, 2 Days to Vegas and Crackdown, FCK, and Fear and Respect, plus that 50cent game? Oh yeah True Crime 3

I don't see were the problem is

I just tried calling 1-800-BUY-HOME as displayed in the hit XBox 360 game Crackdown;

and it said the number I dialed could not be reached from my area. 21L.

Yes, it said that message, and then the operator recording said 21L for no reason.

I just wanted to buy a home for me and my wife in wiggerton and stand on some roofs :(

:lol :lol at this whole thread. I agree the game looks awful, from the pictures it looks like it's going to be a crackdown on wannabe gangstas.

I like how the dude on the upper right is casting a shadow through the billboard metal onto the stairs below.

wait a sec.. is this the game Gameinformer is hyping up to be the next GTA on Xbox 360?

It can't be :lol

Yes it sure is. They are saying it's made by the same original guy or something along those lines i think. i have yet to read the actual article though. the charecters alone make me not wanna even read about it let spend money to play it.

I like the concept of this game. I'm not sure about the art style.

The shots aren't as bad as everyone is making them out to be, especially when you consider that the original GTA creator is claiming that this game will be almots purely free form and allow you to not only have horizontal exploration, but vertical as well. The ideas seem fresh and the style is something new.

Not to mention it has co-op and multiplayer aspects. The way it was decribed hinted at something like a MMO GTA-esque brawler that rewarded players for finding new ways to do things.

I'm interested.

The Power of Xbox 360(R) or something like that.

Small devs are in for a rude awakening next generation trying to pass shit like that.

Nah. Look at this generation's sandbox games. Most people understand that you have to trade some graphical polish for scope. Crackdown isn't a launch title, so they have plenty of time to get this up to snuff.

I dont think I've ever seen a game trancend biases and be universally accepted as ugly on GAF, but this game may be the first :lol

After reading the Gameinformer preview and looking at the much better looking screens, this game now has a place in my most wanted list. The gameplay details are stunning.

Cant wait to see it in motion. Hope we get movies at X05
