I went to school with Craig Sager Jr and got the chance to meet Craig Sager on multiple occasions. Nothing but class from that family.

Just heartbroken right now.

RIP to a legend.

The tribute NBA on TNT posted on twitter has me all misty-eyed at work. NBA coverage will never be the same.

So fucking sad about this. Fuckfuckfuck :( the sports world just lost one of the best in the business. The fact that the players loved him so much speaks volumes to his character. The videos of him battling and staying positive... Inspiring isn't the word. Fuck this.

For fuck sakes man, my father in law died from cancer two weeks ago and I know so many people with it. FUCK CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scary as shit....

Hope I'm not being disrespectful for saying this, but if he's being buried, I'm hoping he would wear one of his wacky suits. :)

Never watched NBA tbh, but the crazy coloured stuff made me smile when I first heard of him.

I was wondering how he was doing since the last time he was in the news was back in September when Charles Barkley visited him in hospital. It made the news because Barkley just had hip surgery and was advised not to fly, but he decided to fly out and visit Sager anyway.

I thought we might be getting bad news soon since there's been total silence for awhile now. That and it was very likely he was going to die soon. I think he had been through at least three bone marrow transplants, and usually the remaining cancer after each treatment gets harder and harder to fight.

What an absolute character and a real icon in the NBA world. He was a part of some of my favorite memories of watching basketball. NBA on TNT tonight is going to be tough.

Seems like the folks at Turner were expecting it. Beautiful tribute:

Great tribute. He had a great farewell tour. I'm sure he'd trade it for another 15 or 20 years of life, but not many people are lucky enough to receive this much love as they are dying.

I want to see some players and staff come out wearing gaudy suits. He will be missed on the sidelines.

RIP

Too bad man, Sager was awesome to watch on the sidelines, and I bet he was an amazing person to go with that too. I still get sad remembering when Pop uncharacteristically broke character during his interview to welcome Craig back, it made me tear up man.

RIP Craig, thanks for the colorful light you brought to the world..

Heartbreaking.

When LeBron was talking to him after Game 6 earlier this year, and Sager's final game, it really sunk in how much I've enjoyed his coverage of sports. This is so sad.

RIP, courageous fighter and a hard worker to the bitter end. Those stories of him driving across Texas between games and treatment were simply inspiring
