Crash Bandicoot Remastered

I was at the E3 Experience at a local theater tonight and the place erupted when they heard the music and saw the backdrop before Shawn came out.

Wow, I gotta say Activision are real shit bags for the way they've handled the whole licensing situation:

-Sony: Hey could we make our own new crash game with one of our studios?, We'll pay you a fuck load for the license?

-Activision: no.

-Sony: Well ugh.. can we at least remaster the first 3 that were console exclusive to PlayStation?

-Activision: Ok, but only if we get to release a Skylanders pack first which you have to announce on stage at the same time and when the remasters are released they have to be on as many console's as possible, so we can make as much money as we can out of this IP that we've done nothing with in the last 6 years.

-Sony: Fuck me... ok.

If this is just a graphics update you will all be so fucking disappointed when you are finally playing Crash again.

PS1 platformers don't hold up by today's standards. The nostalgia/memories is better than the game.
Nah son. They're still good. I will not be disappointed getting to play these on a console I don't have to pull out of the closet.

If you want more crash games you will buy this remaster. It is a test to see how much interest there still is in crash after so many years of MIA.

They can put every single character they want into Skylanders. I don't care. But a Remastered Collection is rly awesome news. Looking forward to it. #NoPowerToTheHate

You think we all haven't played them since release, don't you? I replay them every year and two and three are still awesome.

Going to pick up the HD remastered, and just the skylanders figurine (not the game though, doesn't seem like something I can get into). Though with all the teasing and what Bruce said, I thought they may have gotten the IP from Activision. Oh well, I get remastered games out of it, so I'm happy.

The remasters are PS4 only tho
Right?

Im not getting the skylanders hate. It looks fine.
Yeah, I thought we were past the point of recognizing Skylanders as a decent enough series.

At least Crash isn't a hideous gremlin, like poor Spyro

Straight from Activision's blog:

"we plan to launch a remastered collection of the first three Crash Bandicoot games—Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped —for PlayStation 4."

A remastered collection.

I mean has there been a collection of actual remake since Super Mario All-Stars (and I'm not sure how much that counts as a remake)?

Sticking with improved visuals.

I dont get this at all you get 3 Crash games remastered this was a pipe dream not long ago :/

Since when? People want remakes not remasters. Remasters are glorified ports.

Sly collection
Jake Nd Daxter collection
Uncharted collection
Ico collection
Etc

Problem is, we can already ha e the crash collection through ps1 classics. Sure the remasters may havr a few more bells and whistles, but ultimately it's the same old crash running on the same old engine with a new spit shine.

I think remastered was a bad term to use. It's pretty clear these are full on remakes. If it were a remastering we'd have seen something like the FFVII trailer from 2014. The term "from the ground up" kind of gives that away. A collection will make this an easy steal though, especially if they release it for a lower price.

We don't know who is developing it yet, but I wish them the best. Gaming could use some more Crash, and if these are successful we might just get lucky enough to get a new game.

"Hey, a vocal minority of nerds are asking for a new Crash game. Let's test the waters to see if the interest in Crash is an isolated thing or has mass appeal worthy of a new production."

Probably them testing the waters to gauge what the actual interest is from the market rather than the relative interests from vocal nerds like us.

Why can't anyone get his character design right? Crash, despite his name, always felt fun and sweet to me as a kid, not mentally psychotic.

Pretty much this. That series has floundered in mediocrity for years. I can't imagine there's much interest beyond enthusiasts .

They do seem to get an easy ride.

Look at forums, see what people want, vaguely say something about 'yes we're doing it!' = win.

Next year's big announcement will be Parappa the Rapper and Jumping Flash no doubt.

I did like the shadow thing though...
