Crash Bandicoot Remastered

If this is just a graphics update you will all be so fucking disappointed when you are finally playing Crash again.

PS1 platformers don't hold up by today's standards. The nostalgia/memories is better than the game.

I just played all 3, apart from some sketchy controls on Crash 1, 2 and Warped controlled great. A lot of trial and error though...

I played all three of the original games earlier this year, and they hold up great. Obviously I would say that, but it isn't something I'd say of many PS1 games.

Which one will be better, the emulated version on PC or the remaster? Gameplay is the same. But I pay for it on ps4 so i have a more incentive to defend on how it holds up.

I actually like this one Skylanders redesign. I may be upset about Activision still owning Crash, but at least it's not a terrible look for the character, even if nothing about the game itself appeals to me.

Cool news for the people that loved the crash games. I guess I'm one of the few who always thought the games were kind of crap. The skylanders thing looks kind of cool to me though.

I just don't get how Sony had teased him right at the start of this gen and all we got was an announcement of remasters and not a single thing beyond. Like what's been going on for 3 years?!

Though if it's as good as the recent Ratchet remaster it'll be worth the wait.

Say what? I play the original games all the time, and I still love 'em.

Maybe they lost the rights at some point, or something? Like, it was looking probably that Sony would get the IP back near the dawn of the gen, then things started to get shaky as it went onward?

Skylanders Crash looks terrifying.
And yet it's close to the character designs of the original Concept Artists for Naughty Dog at the time:

This needs to be stressed, Charles Zembillas has posted designs of Crash in this style for months now, you can check out his Cortex designs too on his blog.

As long as they use the word remaster I refuse to get my hopes up that this will actually turn out good. Even with "from the grounds up" added to it, the word remaster instead of remake is a red flag for me. Especially since I can't imagine them doing a collection of three games in the style of, say, the new Ratchet & Clank.

Ehh, I still return to Crash 2 every couple of months. One of the best platformers I've ever played.

New Ratchet & Clank was originally called a remaster IIRC

also, if it was a collection, CTR would be on there. no doubt about it

I think Sony liked the nostalgia back to the ps1, but couldn't do much as they don't own the property. This remaster announcement feels like a very recent deal that may be a reaction to the fans demands. They knew just a crash skylanders announcement would be disappointing.

you would actually be surprised crash 2 and 3 hold up ever well after all this time

crash 1 still has problems with some of it's controls and saving but those can be fixed

Didn't Crash fans want a new game?

Although having said that, this looks ALMOST like it's on the Ratchet level of re-imagining. Not quite but almost.

Might be tempted. I liked the original game.

Straight from Activision's blog:

"we plan to launch a remastered collection of the first three Crash Bandicoot games—Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped —for PlayStation 4."

A remastered collection.

So all these years of teasing at E3 and it's a remaster of the first 3 games? A bit dissapointing but I guess It's better than nothing

Well, yeah. The words still have no fucking meaning because the entire industry hates the English language

That could be PS1 games at 1080, it could be remakes. Who knows. I have good reason to believe it's the latter.

i dont know, i can tell you my first reaction was negative, very very very negative

will keep an eye on the remasters

Biggest fuck you if I ever seen one. I guess this is how FF fans felt after that troll job at PSX. Knowing who owns the license (Activision) - this ain't a troll job.
