My wife thinks I'm crazy because the moment a certain time of day hits when people outside can see in, blinds are closed. She always says "no one is out there staring at us". How the shit does she know?!?! Haha.

For me, I just don't want people looking in on me and my family when we're settling in for the evening. I've been on many walks with my mom when I was younger and got all kinds of glmpses into homes of dontgiveafucks. Not something I'm comfortable with.A friend's wife actually will not live out in the country for this very reason. The blackness of the night where there are no street lights freaks her out too much and even though they live in a suburb the curtains are always shut come sundown. It's crazy but that's the power of fear.

I've actually experienced something similar. I was 15, it was 2 AM and I was staying up late playing F.E.A.R. The lights were on. The desk I was playing at is located under a small window. Right as I took off my headphones, I heard a faint knocking sound, but thought I'd imagined it. As I'm putting away my stuff I clearly hear the knocking sound again, so I stand up and look out the window. At first, I only see my own face reflected in the glass, but then I notice the eyes looking back at me aren't mine. Somebody's standing outside the window, looking in. A woman.
I'd just been playing a horror game, so obviously, I take a step back and go "whoa!" My mom, asleep upstairs, hears this, and comes rushing down. The woman outside starts blabbering about the local laundry works, which is just down the street. It's 2 AM, though, so I have no idea why she needs to be there at that hour. My mom points her in the right direction, waits until she's gone, double-checks the locks and goes to bed.
To this day, I still have no idea why that woman was out there. :lol
Had a really scary experience last night:
Was talking to my girlfriend on the phone at around 11:15. I'm sitting in my office which is on the first floor of the house. I'm totally home alone aside from my dog by my side and my cat in the living room. I started to hear footsteps coming from upstairs. Like, someone with heavy boots were walking around up there. I owed it to random house noises, but then I heard it again. I flipped out and didn't know what to do, and was especially scared considering I'd forgotten to lock my front and back door. My girlfriend vocally guided me out of the house with my dog and told me to get in my car just in case I need to leave. I stayed in the car for about 30 minutes before finally checking back inside. I didn't call the cops because I wasn't entirely sure of what I'd heard.
I haven't told my girlfriend this yet, but this morning, I saw footprints embedded into my carpet upstairs. They were big shoe prints. I'm not sure if someone was in my house, or if this was paranormal, but I now keep my doors locked at all times.

Zigzagging?
Dunno what the first was, could've been a plane, could've been something else. Second kinda sounds like a shooting star.
Sounds very much like a satellite, except for the zigzags.

If you stare at the sky long enough you'll see them every minute or so. They can go at quite a rate, and depending on their position, they can be "star" like or much brighter. I have a lovely piece of software called Stellarium that tracks them in real time. Brilliant for sky watching.
Several years ago, while on a vacation in Canada with my family, one night, I had to go the bathroom, so I did. But before I left the bathroom, I heard a thump like someone was outside and as I stepped outside, I saw two shadows on the wall and heard two people speaking in something that sounded like a mix between Russian and Korean.
Scared the shit out of me.
Possibly raccoons, I remember walking home late at night once past a bunch of shrubbery and heard what sounded like people arguing in Russian on the other side. I was a bit startled so I waited a few minutes and a couple of raccoons ran out of the bushes a few feet in front of me. It's strange how human they can sound sometimes.
Like a year ago, I was just browsing the internet normally with my headphones on. I had music on. But then I started to hear another voice through my headphones, sort of like a Mission Impossible message. I don't think it was English. I paused iTunes. The voice kept going. I checked my tabs, nothing. No sites I had would have had any sound. I close the tabs, and then I closed the browser, I close all programs on my computer, but the voice kept on going for another 20 seconds or so.
Very strange. I was baffled.
Yeah probably (though, they were quite new, I think). Strange. That can be simple radio overbleeding into your headphones. If your headphones are new, that should not happen, but as they get older, they tend to pick up stuff like that. My old pair could basically channel radio all the time when there was nothing playing on it.
That was probably what it was, but it still doesn't explain the shadows. (the shadows themselves looked like humans, but very odd shaped, probably cause shadows tend to)Possibly raccoons, I remember walking home late at night once past a bunch of shrubbery and heard what sounded like people arguing in Russian on the other side. Fuck, I got chillsNot really paranormal (I don't think) but when me and my parents moved into our new house like 6 years ago, my Mum was decorating and stuff and a silver doorknob fell on her head from no where. There was absolutely no where it could have fallen from. She chucked it away because it freaked her out loads.
My Mum has had loads of paranormal experiences though. When she was like 19 she rented out a room in this basement of flats and apparently things turned on in the middle of the night like TV's, and when she woke up things sometimes were in different places than they were the night before. She's also told me that one night she felt something get into bed with her even though there was nothing there. When she moved out she found out that the place had been built on top of what used to be a morgue.
Also when I was like 1 or 2 I used to point into her room when I was just about to go to bed and say "Man on mummy's bed" even though it was only me and her in the house.
Also something that my Nan and Mum saw when she was 16. My mum was going to her boyfriends house and it was my mum, Nan and granddad in the car and my Mum and Nan both saw at exactly the same time electrical lines fall down and start snaking across the road, apparently they hit a car and it flipped over. My Mum and Nan were freaking out yet my Granddad couldn't see anything. When my Nan and Granddad were coming back from dropping my Mum off apparently my Nan told me Granddad to slow down because there was bound to be police and ambulances and stuff yet when they got there everything was normal, none of the lines were down and the car that flipped wasn't there.
I had the same thing happen. It ended up being some adware player that hides in your profile directories in hidden folders. Sometimes you can get lucky and see it in your process list to get the exact name, but yeah it bugged the piss outta me as well.Like a year ago, I was just browsing the internet normally with my headphones on. Do you guys know anything about fire omens?
Today I was bitten by two fire ants (two seperate incidents)
Cherry of my cigarette randomly fell off and burned me.
Couldn't properly light matches twice.
All just today. Strange, huh.

I had my first nightmare in years last night. I watched Ju-on 2 before sleeping, so that's obviously what sparked it.
I can't remember much from the dream, but only how it ended. I was hanging out in my room when I heard knocking on the walls. I looked up and saw the girl's face from the movie. I ran outside and there were about ten of her running at me. I woke up immediately afterward due to hearing myself speaking in some sort of tongues.
I'm honestly still freaked about it.

I always close the blinds and I can't stand newer construction were they have huge wondows and no blinds at all freaks me out and I have a story why. I grew up in rural Missouri on a farm, we didn't have air conditioning so the windows were always open to let air in through the screens, that night I had my curtains open too. Our house was isolated you might get one person a month stopping by trying to sell you something. It is late, totally dark and I hear a weird sound. I get up out of bed, turn on the light, walk over to the window. I don't hear anything so I lean in all way towards the screen as close as a I can. Then I hear "Hey there" some dudes voice like right next to me, I about shit myself run out to my dad who promptly bails out of the house to find the guy. Turns out his car broke down like a mile away and he was looking to use a phone(no cells then).
Blinds closed. Always.

The thought of aliens doesn't really scare me as much as Ghosts. They freak the hell out of me, especially if it's kid ghosts.
I used to live near a haunted house. Stories have been told around the whole neighborhood. People being thrown out the door by invisible forces. People moving out suddenly without saying why over the years. My personal experience with the place isn't too pretty. I have trouble remembering which of these events happened first but they did happen. The place is like an old white and blue Victorian house. The place is currently without tenants and the first happening was I happened to be walking by one of the windows when I noticed that the stove is turned on. I run to the neighbors house and tell them to call the fire department. The come out and have to break a window to get in because the place is locked up tight. Inside the stove was a half melted basketball. Fire fighters had no idea how this could have happened.
The second time was the most scariest for me, I had been walking by the house again and I looked into the "living room" and there was a chair sitting there with an individual watching TV. The TV was displaying a clockwise swirl of of various colors, I forget which ones. Then the individual turned to look at me..... The face was distorted and got worse. "His" mouth stretched to lengths that should have not been possible. I was frozen in fear and could not move or call for help. Eventually I overcame the paralyzing fear and ran. I went back later and there was no TV, chair, or man.
Last one, I was in the house because my aunt was being payed to clean the place and I was helping. I was in a room of the house by myself when the walls started to "bleed". It wasn't like those movies where it is just covering the entire wall. More like someone got cut and a line of blood was going down their arm type of bleeding. Needless to say I left and brought my cousin into the room who was also helping. The "blood" was gone.
Come on guys, these stories ... Did this topic become a 'creepy pasta' thread or what?
I had an experience that freaked me the fuck out back when I was in college at FSU. I was playing Dreamcast with a friend in my dorm room, either NFL2K1 or NBA2K1, and the pizza that we ordered arrived. I paid for the pizza and set it down on my bed. I had had the urge to pee for a while at that point, so we paused the game and I went to pee. But before I left I said to my friend, "Don't eat any of the pizza yet." to which he agreed. I went and did my business and when I came back, I opened the pizza box and there a fucking slice missing! Of course I suspected my friend at first, but then I just came out and asked him, "Hey man, did you take a slice?!" and he said that no, he did not. Couldn't sleep for days after that.
