Creepy unsolved/paranormal/strange events thread

I haven't experienced any crazy paranormal events as far as I can recall.
Once I saw this glowing image of a face in a wall but I was on mind altering substances at the time.

I really shouldn't be reading this so late at night, especially when I'm by myself and it's dark in my house. It's too interesting to stop but it's giving me the willies.

It really is one of the worst things I've ever encountered. I had it happen a lot in the past. The worst part is the feeling that you can't breath. Worst thing is it seemed to happen when I randomly dozed off and some times it might happen 2-3 times in one night. Imagine being next to your wife and not being able to scream to get her to wake you up. Luckily somehow she's been able to pick up faint mumblings from me and wake me up. It really is the equivalent of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. For the longest time I was terrifed I had sleep apnea and I might just die randomly.

I guess I should just be happy I'm not Hmong.

I just breath really hard and fast and my girlfriend knows to wake me up and knows whats going on. One night she had to do it 6 or 7 times, id wake up and fall back into it, I think she was getting pissed. The dreams you fall into while in sleepy paralysis are crazy, you realize its a dream and can basically fuck around it pretty awesome :lol

Hmm, I've never tried the breathing hard thing I'll have to keep that in mind. My wife is pretty supportive of it (and it's not as frequent as it once was, I still think random sleep is one trigger of it). I've never been able to pull of dream control, sounds pretty awesome though.

That said, it's still terrifying ever time it happens. I'd hate to imagine what it is like for young children when they first start having them. I honestly can't remember what I though, I think I always figured it was a physical thing, I was always told its a dream, but I was terrified that I was always actually choking to death.

I was scared of it, but learned to enjoy it, I have a post on the page back telling about how ive been able to leave my body and walk around. Once you get over the fear, sleep paralysis is pretty fun. Theres a ton of videos on youtube where people tell there experiences and what they have learned to do with the situation. Its pretty facinating.

I envy you man. I think my problem is I have too much subconcious Catholic guilt or something lol. It's always either a dark figure at the end my bed or the sensation that I'm falling endlessly.

Interesting I'll check it out., though the idea of walking outside my body just scares the crap out of me. I just want to wake up, even if I could control it. I hate dreaming and sort of wish you could sleep without it, my ratio of good dreams to bad ones isn't great (though I haven't had some awful life to explain why, stress I guess) and I hate being unable to tell the difference. I can state it sucks to wake up thinking I'm late for a math exam, and I have to convince myself I don't take math and haven't had a class since 2002! I always wanted as a little kid the ability to control my dreams and have some filter to prevent bad ones.

Well I figure I can give one paranormal story (which I think is a classic example of no glasses on, half asleep, and waking up). I wake up thinking my dog is there, as I see him, I start petting him, I then realize the door is shut, I ain't petting anything, and something is still there. I then immediately shut my eyes and and bury myself in the covers. On the bright side I neither crap or piss myself. I just think I was either still dreaming or just half asleep and blind in the dark. :lol

Its quite interesting, alot of the stuff on there is ridiculous but entertaining none the less even if you dont believe any of it and the production of the podcast is absolutely impeccable, have not heard a bad interlude song yet!

So yeah check it out for some cool stories :D

Thanks for posting this. I listened to a few shows tonight and it had some pretty interesting stories. Going to be a regular listener of this one for sure.

And when I went to their website today they had an article that made me recall something that happened to me on multiple occasions. It was an article about what is called "streetlight interference." Which is when you walk under (or for me a few feet away) a streetlight and it goes out. This has happened to me many times in my life. For a while years ago I had the crazy idea that it was my mind actually shutting them off some how. But I eventually just shrugged it off as short-circuiting lights or something, probably because it sounded more plausible than some kind of psychic mumbo jumbo.

But finding out tonight (as a google search brought up many stories as well) that this has happened to many people and thinking back to just how many times this has happened to me personally it kind of creeps me out. Creepy in the fact that I am not alone in something that sounds completely absurd. Some even believe that its the human bodies electromagnetism that causes this. I don't know what causes it, and its probably just a coincidence, but it happens enough to make me wonder.

Big foot has never really held much interest for me though. I like other mysterious/unidentified creatures better. El Chupacubra for life!

Screw that! Bigfoot FTW!

I also like all the 1970s Bigfoot movies, it's a great way to experience the beauty of nature and regional film-making.

This is not paranormal, but god dammit. This thread just reminded me of the most grotesque thing I've ever seen and it was in a dream. I don't even know how my mind conjured it in the first place because I never even saw anything like it in a movie or video game. One of the top 5 all-time nightmares I've ever had. Bah. It was really really gory.

My mom and I were driving down a desert road at night. We were meeting up with my dad and sister. As we go, I catch a glimpse of some people in a turnout but pay no particular attention. Later we found out we had driven too far and had to turn back. On the way, I see the same turnout, now with a large banner that reads "Happy Halloween" above four standing bodies. Except the heads of each person had been sliced off at the mouth. The upper jaw and up to the rest of the head was placed at the feet of each of the four standing dead people, and a butcher knife was shoved into the throats of each of them, as so to replace the top of their heads. Absolutely fucking terrifying.

I saw a decapitated body once as a kid. Dude had been killed and then mutilated and his body dumped next to the main fountain in the market square as a warning to the rest of the village. Somehow, it wasn't as frightening as what you'd imagine seeing something like that would be.

It could have been the fact that I saw it in stark sunlight with a crowd of people arround, all horrified and disgusted, but it didn't actually provoke an actual fear response, you know? Seeing this horrible thing in such a mundane setting contextualised it in a weird way. The worst was over, as it were, and we were looking on dumbstruck at the aftermath.

Thing is, I know for a fact that it would've been scarier if it were a dream.

One time as a kid(after just having seen one of the Indiana Jones movies), I had a dream that I was lost in a big city when I came across a line-up of kids. I joined the line to find out what was going on and the kid in front of me was a black kid (up until this point, I'd never actually met any black people in real life, so this was a real novelty) and he explained to me that they were standing in line to see the insane lady.

I was like... OK. I stood in line for a while as the line shortened and I saw what the kids were lining up for. The "insane lady" was this blonde monstrosity that moved around on all fours and had a messed-up face and stringy hair that went over her face. She had these huge shoulders, but short, deformed arms and legs, so she couldn't stand up. She was wearing the one-shoulder leopard print thing that Tarzan normally wears.

Anyway, as I watched she scampered over to the kid in the front of the line and bit him on the stomach and ripped out part of his intestines. I was like :O

What happened next was weird. I wanted to run away, but somehow I was glued to my spot in the line. The black kid in front of me got mauled and then it was my turn. She didn't go for my arm like she did the black kid, but instead went straight for my pre-pubescent wedding tackle. I looked down in horror as there was a gaping bloody hole in the front of my jeans with miscellaneous, unidentifiable internal bits hanging out of me (they looked like chicken gizzards). I shouted at the "insane lady"

"YOU ARE INSANE!!!"

Then I ran away.

I woke up and immediately looked down my pants. I had tears streaming down my eyes and the biggest feeling of relief you could imagine when I realised it had just been a bad dream.

I've always been fascinated by the paranormal, but don't believe.

The only freaky thing that ever happened to me was seeing, and having visual and auditory hallucinations for about month last year. Don't think it was anything paranormal, but it could've been. It was a black figure that kinda looked like the neighborhood watch guy following me around.

f1000154_neighborhoodwatch.gif

He wouldn't ever say anything to me. Just typically stand in the corner, and stare, or ride in the back seat.

Just an overwhelming sense of pressure came whenever he was around.

I could never make out any of the auditory hallucinations. They were just mainly noise.

I couldn't sleep, and even when I did, I never got really any REM sleep.

Scared me shitless, and thought I was losing my mind.
Eventually, it went away when I was able to deal with external stessors, and major depression.

And no, don't quote my avatar, because I wasn't on any drugs.
I saw something (very very similar) like that once. It scared the shit out of me. I slept with my light on for weeks. I was also going through depression at the time when I saw it.

Apparently they're called "shadow people" or something. I personally think it was a hallucination caused by my depression, stress, and lack of sleep at the time; but after that happened I've been more open to paranormal ideas and such.

Oh maybe someone can help me find a youtube video. Was about these people hiking and this mysterious signal they got on their radio. And there was this ungodly screaming at the end of the first video. id probably die of a heart attack if i heard that irl. Anyone know what im talking about? Its recent.. like a year or two ago.

A few years ago I had a nightmare where I was being chased by an unknown party and I became semi-lucid. I don't remember if it was the gunshot or me trying to see who was chasing me, but I turned to look back and at that moment the bullet hit my neck and everything felt hyper-real. I remember reaching into my neck with my entire hand and realizing I was about to die. I awoke clutching my neck as my eyes closed in the dream. Shit fucked me up for awhile.

Figured id add another story about the time my friends and I broke into an old abandoned insane asylum. I have the video somewhere of us roaming through this 3 story building ill try to find it.

First night my buddy and I pulled down the fire escape and walked up to the second floor balcony and door, my buddy says fuck it and punchs the glass and unlocks the door, as soon as we walk in we entered a big white room where the crazys probaly hung out, it was 95 degrees in the room in the middle of winter here in minnesota, got scared and decided to come back with flashlights and a couple other people.

The next day comes, we show up with a camcorder and flashlights and make our way in, we decided to descend to the basement, we walk down the stairs, theres a baseball bat leaning against the wall with a light shineing down onto it, at this point we freak out and continue our decent, we reach the basement and it looks like they used it as a school, with big bold letters and bright colors of writing on the wall, litterally one of the scariest settings ive witnessed in my life, we wrap around and notice a room where a guard would sit and open the doors for the tunnel system, there was a chair set up to a desk with the light on it was fuckin creepy, the tunnel was locked tight and as soon as we try to pry it open, we hear a noise like a chainsaw and its getting louder and louder like its comming towards the door we booked ass out of that basement so fast.

I read later on the net that people would hang themselves in the tunnels of the connected buildings, we set up the camera in a room and let it sit there by itself for an hour, as soon as we checked the tape somthing interfered with the camera and it stoped recording even though there was plenty of battery and tape left to record on. Always wanted to go back and try to get into the tunnels and explore the other buildings.

The site wont let me copy the text but its at the beginning its called the anoka state hospital, people were murdered and hung in the tunnels also

the weirdest thing that ever happened to me was one night i woke up from sleeping levitating from my bed in a bright white light, all i could do was grunt as when i tried to scream nothing happened i couldnt move and couldnt speak really terrifiying. I then proceeded to wake up some time after in a panic.(Me being a huge X-files fan immediately looked to see if i had experienced lost time, which was difficult since i wasnt sure when i went to sleep) Either way really creeped me out.

:lol you know a story's gonna be good when it starts with "my friends and I broke into an old abandoned insane asylum".

The school part would have sent shivers down my spine. If there's one thing I find disturbing as hell, it's abandoned places like that.

As far as paranormal stuff, you can't throw a baseball where I live without hitting a civil war site. One place in particular, though, was really, really scary. It's called Gathland State Park near Burketsville (aka the Blair Witch Project place). The locals call it spook hill. Basically the story is there was a battle there and the confederates had to push cannon up this hill into town. They call it spook hill because if you put your car in neutral, supposedly your car gets pushed up the hill. I did this several times and even came back with a carpenter's level. It was level. Of course I smoked a lot of pot back then, so I don't even believe myself.

I've heard of this, it's an illusion.. I think there are lots of "gravity hills" like this around the country.

Yep, indeed!--

Your Spook Hill is listed there.

So you guys go into an abandoned building and someone's still paying for the electricity to be on so that a bat and a guard's desk can be illuminated by spooky lights? Sounds hard to believe. :lol

Forgot to mention they use it for storage, we stole a bunch of old prison uniforms from there. And one building they still use it for a workhouse (jail but can go to work) this story is completly true.

To prevent people from stealing (copper, wiring, etc.) and making them think generators (and thus wires) are still hot. It's illegal to booby trap stuff like that, but people can and still do it. Also sometimes companies just forget to power everything down and don't notice any real power usage.

Ok, so my 2 year old freaked my wife and I out over the course of the last 2 days.

Monday night, we lay her down to bed and after about an hour of her being completely asleep, my wife and I hear her screaming bloody murder from her bedroom. We rush in to see what's wrong and she's standing in her crib, pressed to one side and looking into her closet, hysterically screaming. My wife holds her for a bit and she begins to calm down, so my wife grabs one of the blankets that hangs over the foot of her crib (to shelter light from her window in the mornings) and she begins to push back away and scream again. Another test advance from the blanket reveals that she appears to be afraid of the blanket. We tried to ask her what was wrong, but we got no answer, just more hysterical screaming. We took her out to the couch with us, laid her down and she nodded off. When my wife and I were going to bed, we laid her back down in her room and all was ok.

The next day, yesterday, we were in her room after work and asked her what was wrong last night. My daughter still has limited vocabulary, but she's quite good at understanding what people are asking of her. She simply replied with "It bit me". So we asked where, she said "on my arm" and pointed to her arm. So, I grabbed the blanket and asked if the blanket bit her and she looked at me and said "no, not blanket, in there" and pointed to her closet, which is directly in front of the foot of her bed. I asked where in there, and she pointed to the very top shelf in her closet and said "in there". Not really knowing where to take that next, I ask her how did it bite her and after getting a little confused over what I was asking, she grabbed the blanket and asked me to put it on the foot of her bed, so I did. She then went to the middle of her room and got on her knees and said "in there" (pointing to the closet), then she said "then blanket" and she moved over to her blanket, still on her knees and put her head under the blanket as if peering through the slats in her crib and said "it bit me".

We were able to calm her down and she went to bed last night just fine without any fear or anything, but it got my wife and I kinda freaked out. Bad dream? fucking troll? WTF??

There's this poster from another forum that apparently comes from a secrety society and he had a vast knowledge of ancient histories (eg. annunaki, old Gods etc etc). He disappeared after a week or so.

Does any1 know what im talking about? I'm trying to find the pdf copy of the discussion.

This thread is awesome, I love stuff like this :D

Does anyone from the UK remember that old tv show "strange but true"? Presented by Michael Aspell? It used to scare the hell out of me when I was younger.

Also, I did'nt realise sleep paralysis was so common. It usualy only happens to me when I sleep on my back (if that makes a difference) and every single time it is damn terrifying, cannot get used to it. It scares the mrs aswell when I suddenly sit bolt upright in bed, dripping with sweat and breathing like a mad man :lol

http://www.scribd.com/doc/403303/The-Revelations-of-an-Elite-Family-Insider-2005
Something fascinating happened on a forum (godlikeproductions.com) in a span of a few days and it has caused quite a stir in certain parts of the Internet. A person by the moniker of Insider claimed he was from a ruling bloodline and gave the people a
chance to ask everything they wanted and Insider would answer. At first it looks like another internet
hoax, some lightweight questions were followed by lightweight answers, but then things started
changing drastically.

Anyone who understands dialectics knows that the answers Insider gave were designed to
force/provoke others to ask questions which went to the core of the matter. First some questions are
being asked by Insider like "Are you really living on the planet you think you are?" which made people
react differently than before.

The answers this person started giving to those following questions showed a deep, broad
understanding of philosophy, history, metaphysics, religion, magic, politics, and more in a way which
is very innovative, detailed and some answers are thought provoking to say the least.

What amazes is that Insider answered these questions in a very short time span and if you keep in mind
that the topics are diverse, some in depth and some epic answers showed up literally minutes apart, one
must wonder how it was done. Copy/paste from internet? I checked intensively and the sentences
Insider used cannot be found on internet. Like one person observed, this was way over the heads of the
usual suspects.

Some people started getting upset, others were drawn to it and this all lead to a dialogue where so much was revealed, including by the other posters that it can be studied for years to come. Sounds hard to believe? Read on.

Diggin' this thread... Never knew about sleep paralysis! Jesus, all those years, and I finally learn wtf that shit was... I gotta write some of the "dreams" down...

I used to have that sleep paralyis alot when I slept on my stomach. My mom called it "the devil/witch riding your back" and your suppose to quote Pslam verses from the bible to scare them off and move again. Anyways this one night it happens and im facing my window and on my curtains i see a face that is constantly changing but it kept the same scowling look. Jesus that shit scared me I shut my eyes and quoted every verse in the Bible that I knew :lol

This "Elite Insider" Q/A session was a bit interesting, to say the least...

Q: "What you said could happen but it would be done by the ones who control
the lower areas". The ones up higher do it through the daily items
you consume."
I wanna know what you know about this.

A: I do not know you personally, but I already know I do not eat or drink 90%
of what you do daily (to throw in a percentage). I do not even come close
touching them. It is pretty much everything sold with a few exceptions
here and there.

I must add that there are grades in this and it has a different effect on different people.
To give examples of the 2 extremes of people who have been consuming
them for a long time; some when eating these almost get into a trance,
on others it has no effect whatsoever. Most people are somewhere in between,
it affects them in such a way that they do not notice. They wear out faster, get tired
faster, grow older, think slower, focus on emotional/physical needs,
get health problems that were unheard of 200 years ago at that relatively young age,
i.e. the quality of life declines.

You are not what you eat, but what you eat controls how you feel about yourself,
the way it makes your body respond. Through your own ignorance and laziness,
you hurt yourself. When is the last time you investigated what exactly is in what
you are eating or how your soda got prepared? When looking into it and finding all
these agents and knowing what they are known to cause, ask yourself; would I put
this agent into the mouth of my child and make him/her swallow it?
You are doing that everyday to your child.

Then there are electrical frequencies as you mentioned, it is everywhere and
your house being the most active place. Have you ever cut the electricity off
in your house to see what the difference in vibe is?
You sleep more comfortable for one.

It was the summer after grade 8. My cousin was staying over for the weekend so of course I had to let him have my bed and I slept on sofa in the living room. Now, whenever we did get together we would always try to wake up before the other to have some un-interupted video game time. This particular morning he wakes up and calls out my name, my grandmother goes to the room to tell him that I'm still sleeping and to not wake me.

I guess he woke up to someone sitting on the end of the bed, he thought it was me cause thats where we sat to play video games. I didn't think much of it when I was told, but a few days later I found out that a friend had been hit by a car while riding his bike and died that very same morning.
