critique my m.i.a. - uraqt remix (and also make your own!!)

so m.i.a.'s official website has the acapella versions of 3 of her songs on her official website...and i've never actually made a remix of anything before, so i gave it a shot, tell me what you guy's think. it's a super poppy dance mix.

thoughts? i've never made a remix before and i didn't put too much work into it but i think it turned out ok considering.

I might have to play this next time I spin. I like the Sanford and Son version from Piracy... and the Arular outtake version is a little dull.

Seeing her in a week and a half btw.

*edit. I'd like to hear another version that uses the "dit dit dit" as a hook to work throughout the song...

i was going to try to make a mashup using those vocals, but then i realized i have no idea how to remove vocals from songs

does anybody who knows how want to tell me?

What does the real song sound like? Is it legal to post it here? This type of music is not what I enjoy 99% of the time, but you have a really slick, ORIGINAL beat.

Cool remix, but the way they presented the files to remix is kinda sloppy. I guess I'm just spoiled by Trent Reznor's The Hand That Feeds Garage Band file. :p

It's a simple MP3 file, and while you can build a song around it, the recent Garage Band file from NIN was the actual tracks built together as they were in Pro Tools. It gives you a look into the way a song is built. If you're going to ask people to remix your song, do it correctly in some format rather than a lazy dump of a bunch of vocals. Here's a look at the NIN Garage Band file.

I took part in an unofficial NIN remix contest, and while having a Garage Band file might make it cleaner to remix, it can produce amazing results. Check it out yo, http://www.motorde.com/thtf.mp3. You can get the Garage Band file at nin.com, but if you have Windows there are some ACID files floating around.

Sorry yoshifumi but I can't give you any kind of constructive feedback because I don't know what the original song sounds like. I've heard Arular but this song isn't on the album.

If it's any consolation, I like the song you've presented. :) It sounds like a cross between Lali Puna and Nobukazu Takemura. Are you a fan of either artist?

i changed the start so it just says "could it be" instead of "and could it be"

and i moved one of the backup vocals from the chorus to the right

and i added "dit dit dit on your mobile phone" on the left during the chorus

and i fixed the timing between the second and third chorus

She and Snoop Dogg should have children and then they can have Anglo-American Gangsta\Terrorist Chavdren. Seriously I think she is the 'underground' female version of Snoop Dogg (slurred flow, nonsense lyrics etc). Doesn't make any sense at all. She's even worse than Missy Elliot :\
