I'm still working on it, but I'd like some feedback.

Looks fine... except...

If I was being picky, where the sidebar and the top banner meet, the seams are hard, and don't merge. Easily fixed, but otherwise looks good.

Well tonight is my first night using Photoshop really, so I don't exactly know what I'm doing with it, so little things like that will be fixed later.

I'm not a huge fan of red and black, and the design itself is fairly generic, but it's definitely functional. There are a few things you might consider to improve it, though:

You might want to minimize the size of the buttons in the left nav-bar to eliminate scrolling, especially for people running in low resolution. Also, are the links on the left prioritized? Should your livejournal link be that high -- should your livejournal friends be that high? Maybe you could add those two links to the contact page. Try to seperate your film-related pages from your personal one's. I'm not completely familiar with your site, so perhaps personal and public information's completely interchangable. If so, my above critiques might not be at all warranted.

have the actual frames of the film divide the links you have for each section.

Personally I prefer not to make websites with a theme related to the subject matter. It can look kinda gimmicky if not done right. I prefer fairly generic design that still looks good but it merely functional. But you seem to be going for a fun looking site that doesn't take itself too seriously, so I guess it fits.

Ah, okay, to shed some insight, the main URL, www.goodcowfilms.com splits the visitor up into two seperate sites.

1) the farm site (the redesign concept of which is above)
and
2) the films site (www.goodcowfilms.com/films)

The films site is all film related material. The farm site is a mix of personal stuff, assorted archives, and a large Sega section. However, lots of people visit the farm site and don't visit, or don't even know there's a films section, hence my emphasis on linking to those aspects with this new layout.

Question to everyone here ---

Admittedly, this new design looks a lot like it should belong to the "films" section, as opposed to the "farm" section. However, I have no idea what a "farm" section would look like.

The original thought years ago was to split the site into two halves, but now I'm just wondering if I should merge the two, and have everything on that layout. (I'd change some buttons up, etc.) It IS goodcowfilms.com anyway...

Opinions?
