Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster

One of my fondest Christmas memories as a child was wanting Croc after seeing the TV adverts, then opening the game on Christmas Day along with a PlayStation.

I'll buy this for pure nostalgia. The most rose tinted glasses case of all my possible nostalgia, but I don't care.

Extremely unnecessary but I'm definitely gonna play it, was my favourite game when I was 6 and the very first console game I owned.

By the sounds of it, the reformed Argonaut Software might do a remaster of the second game and use this as starting point for a series revival.

And so the adventure begins again!

Join Croc as he embarks on a journey to rescue the Gobbos from the villainous Baron Dante. Now In stunning HD with updated graphics, modern analog controls with an enhanced camera, and visual effects, the classic 3D platformer leaps from the 1990s into the present day. Croc is better and cuter than ever!

Leap, stomp, climb, swim, tailspin, wiggle, and ker-splat your way through the vibrant, colorful environments, meeting and defeating Dante's hordes of impish Dantinis and a cast of weird and wonderful transformed creatures along the way.

Whether you're a longtime fan reliving the nostalgia of your gaming childhood or you're discovering it for the very first time, the Croc remaster promises fun for all ages. Are you ready to save the Gobbos? Let's go! YAZOO!!!

Want more Argonaut?

Remember playing this on ps1 the only lasting memory i had was how absolute dogshit the controls were, tank controls do not belong in a 3D platform game.

"Miyamoto-san went on to make Mario 64, which had the look and feel of our Yoshi game - but with the Mario character, of course - and beat Croc to market by around a year. Miyamoto-san came up to me at a show afterwards and apologized for not doing the Yoshi game with us and thanked us for the idea to do a 3D platform game. He also said that we would make enough royalties from our existing deal to make up for it. That felt hollow to me, as I'm of the opinion that Nintendo ended our agreement without fully realizing it. They canned Star Fox 2 even though it was finished and used much of our code in Star Fox 64 without paying us a penny."

If you've stuck with us through the entire month, it's quite an achievement, so to celebrate this achievement, here's a sneak peek at Croc's Achievements. How many times can we squeeze achievement(s) into this post? 5 times. Now that's an achievement!
