Hi!

Here http://www.xbw.nl/news/6098/ is a lot of new information regarding the upcoming Xbox 2 en PC shooter Cry Havok. (release somewhere 2005, I guess at the end)

Also there is shots from the engine running the game, possibly from the game itself, though thats not confirmed.

The info, translated:

- Hypermodern realistic militaristic warfare game, 128 players online.
- 4 team in massive enviroments
- The better players function as individual, their skills grow in their trade (they can upgrade medic, engineer, spec-op, scout) the better they function as a team, they will grow stronger as a team (get new weapons equipment)
- The better the team plays the more RTS functions they will need to manage, expand the base, create defensive perimiter, create vehicles for player use, sea, land and air. Each unique functions.
- base will be upgraded, buildings built in realtime in 3d view.
- best players will rise in rank, to become the general eventually that leads the team
- enemies base building and teamcreation, resourcemanagement needs to be interrupted by cutting of their supply and routs, blowing up bridges, bases etc.
- realtime physics
- large in and outdoor enviroments
- persistent server records, with merit points system.
- night and daytime battles
- Uses XNA

These pictures, MAY or MAY not be fromthe game, but they show the Reality Engine in Action!

Geuss this is from a demo running on current hardware, you should see some of their other demo's they are mindboggling to the extreme...

What the fuck does that even mean?

actually in the article it says ultramodern.
probably it's some years in the future ala splinter cell/rs3, but not far enough to be called sci-fi. it's not really a strange word and nothing they made up themselves.

I kinda like the aliens. No one said aliens are supposed to be pretty!

A bit like Seven of Nine on a bad hair day:

The graphics seemed not too impressive at first, but then I read 128 players online and huge environments, so I guess that's why. Looks pretty good to me.

I mean it's not coming out for a year, plus it's probably shots from current generation hardware. And might not be shots from the game Cry Havok at all, so yeah. It's just from a demo using their engine.
