Few months back, went to a classy restaurant in Paris.
See a grand piano, a Steinway (for those that don’t know - probably the finest pianos in the world, prices start around $50,000). Asked if it is being played - nope, the owner bought it to look nice.
Sitting in doctor’s office today, finally decided to check the old piano gathering dust there (the office is a rented space). Turns out it’s a Pleyel, basically a 19th century equivalent to a Steinway. Piano is damaged, and probably terribly out of tune.
What are strange and maybe precious things you saw somewhere when you least expected it?
