4. What was the last slur? Nothing fits.

Sword swallower(s)?

You called this "embarassing all around" as if the waiter had enaged in something like what the customers had, and then decry false equialencies?

Seems like it was the mother who was bent out of shape and not the waiter. We don't really have any indication of how the waiter felt about the situation. He could have laughed it off and showed it to her and then her motherly instincts kicked in. Don't know.

Also, there are varying degrees of embarassing behavior. It goes without saying who behaved the worst in this situation.

I hate waiters' attitude (about tips) in America, but that customer...I hope someone pisses him off equally as much.

Yes he's going to switch sexual orientation as he missed out on your tip.

I would have thrown the food in their faces and claim God told me to do it

I'd love that.
Or something that would let me keep my job. Like upon seeing the cheque, I'd raise both eyebrows while shaking my head and look at the guy like he was a total moron, fake a brief moment of just noticeable anger then pause like I had a sudden realisation. Look back into the guy's eyes and slowly say, I hope to see you here again (with a borderline-evil grin).

Wow. I've eaten at there a few times.

and actually, although the headline says Kansas, it's part of the greater Kansas City metro. There are definitely some conservative old folks in JoCo, but this is really something you'd expect more in western, rural KS.

Do it at your own peril. Seek to make enough "major events" like this news and you could undermine everything else that has been fought for.

Instead of having your opinion respected and listened to, you will just be marginalized and scoffed at. Like what has happened to PETA over the past few decades.

Talk about hyperbole.

Homophobia like this isn't actually that common in the greater KC area.

I lived in the town next to Overland Park for four years, and while most people were religious, I never once heard anything homophobic.

I always thought that science would lead to the decline of the popularity of religion.
That's why these guys have to work harder than ever before to maintain their influence over people, it's getting harder to fool all the people all the time nowadays, so a lot of these guys are getting bolder and more desperate to spread their message, and it always makes them seen insane, or living in a different era.

Speaking of that hateful word, I've actually taken to calling corrupt, willfully ignorant politicians fags. They deserve all the hate we can throw at them so the word actually befits them.

Just not a good idea at all. Not worth catching a ban over either. I'd edit it out.

EDIT: Posting it twice is not going to help.

That'll show him not to be gay...

But seriously, why do people care that someone is gay? Did he anally rape them or did he provide good service? What matters here?

Fucking tip the guy and go on your merry way.

is it any good? I've heard commercials on the radio I dunno how many times but I've never taken the initiative to try it out and it's only like 5 minutes away from me haha

Yeah, it's good. It's surprisingly good for a national chain, actually... you'd expect it to be a lot more bland, but their steaks are great and some of the seafood pastas are excellent. I had some smoke scallops last time and they were great. Overall, I have to say I prefer Johnny Cascone's, which is just a few blocks from it and of a similar menu, price range, etc. Cascone's definitely has a much more authentic kind of homemade taste and feel.

But, I have some relatives who come to town once or twice a year and always want to go to Carabba's, so that's what we do, and I can't complain because it's pretty good too.

I am now officially of the opinion that the tip should be mandatory and built into the check with absolutely no way of the customer opting out. And if they put up a stink, ban them from the establishment unless the service was actually terrible.

If bigots want to espouse their nonsense in pubic and discriminate against people, then they have no right to complain when it blows up in their face. It serves them right.

I'm glad the server and his family are getting so much support.

First question that popped into my head. Obviously I already know the answer. I probably would've been annoyed if he was doing that stupid "gay" accent. That's no reason to hate on him, though.
Excuse me? I would highly suggest reconsidering what you just wrote.

I thought leaving judgment up to God was one of the most basic tenets of Christianity.
The Christianity I grew up with was more about aggressive salesmanship and judgment. The only way to heaven isn't just minding your own beeswax and being good, you have to be more aggro than that.
