CVG Reviews Prince of Persia Warrior Within

Can we thread merge all these PoP praise threads into one gigantic circlejerk thread? It's getting silly now.

The review stated the combat isn't even really much better. I thought this was the focus for UBI?

Basically called it a worse rehash, by taking the charm away from the first game.

Ninja Gaiden-lite indeed.

Look, ZA, I know you like PoP, but could you just like, have one thread you bump every time you post new info, instead of starting three new threads a day?

Also, I know you think you're getting the short end of the stick here, but I think people would be a lot more sympathetic if you ever posted in other, non-PoP-related threads, ever.

Another PoP thread... yeah this is guaranteed to get you your nick changed back....

CHEQUE!

Sorry had a brit moment there.

On topic though, i cant read a review by CVG now without thinking that theres some ulterior motive behind the score, in this case:

"Seems like CVG are trying to get some credibility back"

can a mod collate all the hate for this game over the xth number of posts tha ZAPages has posted + sticky it?

GOD DAMN. Bomb already.

It just pisses me off so much! I don't have a huge problem with the darker and moddy atmosphere, it just seems like the game is trying too hard. The Prince calling that woman a bitch in the demo was too much, just a very forced and pointless moment.
Although I sorta want to see how much he has changed by the end of the game, but not enough to pay $49.99. $19.99 PLEASE!

But yeah, the hate for this game is getting a little crazy. I think people are just pissed off by the direction Ubisoft went with this franchise, with good reason.

You have the nerve to call people on trolling, but that's all you do yourself. Do you enjoy being a hypocrite?

this is one of the few game IMO that deserves hate. I don't troll every title thats being released and this has got nothing to do with trolling; its more to do with ZApages and his ridiculous threads.

Don't get even because I nailed your incessant N trolls. If this is trolling. my trolling.. unlike yours is not in every other Nintendo released title thread. And what the fuck. GAF is hypocrisy central.

Cheers bye.

The irony is strong in this one.

No way! Are u serious he says that? Man, way to drag a classy franchise through the dirt and cover it with mud.

This game will bomb righteously.

P.S. I am not a troll :)

totally agree, rock music on top of that just killed the game completely for me.

I'm surprised that more caught that as well. But the forced attitude/vulgarity annoyed me less than the fact that the fighting is still stillted. The combat was my number one complaint of the first game--the fact there's more of it has pretty much destroyed my interest. I could care less about the atmosphere change if the additions to the game weren't merely cosmetic IMO.

"You BITCH!" :lol

It was also funny when Ocelot yells out "Son of a BITCH!" in MGS3

And the music horrid, geez. PoP's soundtrack was so damn awesome and now we get some stupid metal rock music in PoP2...

I don't think the combat is going to be as bothersome, to be quite honest. The first game would constantly lock you in a room and continue to spawn enemies until you've killed a certain amount. Here, enemies don't really spawn in anymore. You can generally see all enemies on the screen that you will fight and are never really even forced to fight them. If you like, you can simply run past them now.

They simply integrated the fighting into the normal gameplay rather than having it stand alone.

I really hope that the combat is more integrated into the platforming stuff this time around. As I've said before, some of the best parts of the original PoP (not SoT) was fighting around spike pits, collapsing floors, chompers, etc. I always got a chuckle out of forcing my opponent to his grisly demise on a bed of spikes, and it would have been nice to have a similar option in SoT.

In the demo for Warrior Within, you can lure enemies into position then trigger a switch to skewer them on a bed of spikes. It's pretty fun. :)
