was wondering if you have a preference between the two great Ubisoft series
i mean, do you consider AC as an open world evolution of POP, or do you still like POP more, with the 'puzzle' location mechanic, restricted in a definite area?

a particular chapter is also your fave one?

Assassin's Creed for me, i only played POP once or twice years ago but completed most of the AC games, Origin's was the first real open world AC changing from the stealth based games and they sold more games with Origin's, Odyssey and Valhalla but not so many recently lol.

PoPSoT is my number one choice if I were to rate them however there are more great AC games(ac4, odyssey, etc.) compared to PoP games which I only really liked the first two, while the rest were just barely ok. Havent played the metroidvania one yet tho.

Assassin Creed 1 2 3 4 were a great evolution of Prince of Persia, from 4 on wards is just busy work without a soul imo, the perfect brain dead game.

the Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy are the only good AC games.
the others are either worse versions of this formula or just crappy Action RPGs.

PoP has Sands of Time, which is great... but that trilogy loses quality with each new entry.
the 2008 PoP was pretty good as well,
and then PoP The Lost Crown was genius.

so, I'd say PoP wins by a tiny bit, due to how good The Lost Crown was.

As a franchise, AC.
It has more games I like and on a conceptual level I think it's more interesting and varied since the entire point is exploring various settings and time periods.

That said, after almost 20 years of Ubisoft tirelessly milking the franchise, these days I'd bay WAY more interested in a new linear POP game that mixes puzzles, skill based platforming and combat than getting more uninspired Ubisoft open world slop.

...the 2008 PoP was pretty good as well,
i liked a lot that one

i also prefer the POP serie on average, there imo is that instant catchy factor, due the combination of find the correct way + stealth or battle + puzzle, it just always work

Prince of Persia for sure, I'd say it's somewhere in my top ten franchises period. Sands of Time trilogy is amazing, 2008 was really good, and The Lost Crown is one of the best Metroidvania. Really looking forward to the Sands of Time proper remake next year.

kremiso kremiso You need to create a poll :messenger_sunglasses:

My hearth is with PoP. I loved Assassin's Creed with Altaïr and Ezio but the latest games have killed my interest in the series. Still waiting for the Sands of Time remake.

They both dead to me

AC started as a PoP game.

I really like the story in the first PoP game and the the time rewind effect. It was really interesting at the time. AC has the interesting fact of Historic tourism, or a form of it. And I really enjoy the historic aspects of AC and going to places that I have visited in the modern world and running through a version of them in their past. I really like the historical aspect of AC probably more.

PoP 08 was great and I have a soft spot for the original, but overall it has to be AC.

AC has its issues, but there are a few great games sprinkled in there and the worlds they build have consistently been top tier imo. I enjoyed them enough to finish every mainline AC before Shadows.

Prince of Persia Trilogy shits on all Assassins Creed games from fall in haystack heights
