Bring on Sabrina, BRIDE OF CTHULU

What in the f'tagn?

Is there a cosmic horror reimagining of Allegra's Window, Salute Your Shorts, and Cousin Skeeter?

Huh. I always thought that the Melissa Joan Hart sitcom was an original work. Never realized it had origins in the Archie universe.

My fiancée and I binged through Riverdale a few months back when we didn't have anything else to watch. It's like CW's final form or some shit - impossibly beautiful people, moody drama, clearly being shot in Vancouver, etc. It had its moments, though. Not particularly my thing, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Are they impossibly beautiful? Betty and Veronica are beautiful people for sure but they're not the crazy ridiculous CW standard. I thought they were a bit more relatable to good looking normal people rather than how do you even exist actresses. They all look like they're actually in their age range too unlike say...their predecessors who were the same age but looked like they were seniors in college.

The show i was hoping Riverdale was going to be, instead of being an archie skinned WB drama

I mean, from the start wasn't Riverdale billed as a teenage drama filled with mystery, murder, etc. Inspired by shows like Twin Peaks, Dawson's Creek, and specifically taking inspiration from Mark Waid's Archie?

Anyways, bring on Chilling Adventures. The comic is great, Riverdale is fun, so seeing a mix of the two should be interesting. I definitely hope this goes more into the dark/creepy vibe of the comics.

Archie is pretty bad but the girls are a decent Betty and Veronica. It is definitely a step up from some of the other shows.

They nailed the casting for the most part. The supporting cast is great. From the parents (Skeet Ulrich, c'mon man) to Cheryl Blossom. The main four seem to work so far. Cole as Jughead pretty much kills it, and I think Veronica does a pretty good job. Betty is fine, and like you said Archie needs some work. Hopefully season 2 gives him a better plot line.

Melissa Joan Hart as
Aunt Hilda

Can't tell if I want them to eventually crossover or not.

Can't tell if supernatural stuff in Riverdale would be awesome or ruin it.

I'd certainly say so, but I suppose it's in the eye of the beholder. You've got high standards, friend!

The Chilling Adventures comic surprised me with how grim it was, which is also why its awesome. Don't know how any of the crazy stuff is going to fly on network TV, but I'm down to watch. Still lowkey salty iZombie isn't more like the comic though.

I will be shocked if the show manages to be half as twisted as the comics. I expect it to be more like Buffy or Supernatural.

Well, that would basically kill my interest to be honest. Wasn't it described as Rosemary's Baby meets the Exorcist in the press release? LET'S GO BALLS OUT HORROR! (I'm going to be disappointed, aren't I?)

Ha. If it's like the comic, hell no. Emphasis on hell. But there is a teen life vibe but in relation to well, pure horror.

Sorry but all I see here is a witch "dancing around without her drawers on", not pure horror.

Might be a good idea to pick up the book then.

I did a quick google search and found a panel. This book gets weird, in a good way. Spoilers for issue 4:

No? Can't remember the last book I read by either.

Was Sins Past still Straczynski?
IT was a joke because you said the delays was killing the hype for you, and those two made delays into a science and an art form.

If I can't joke with you about this shit Spike, who can I?

Ugh they're gonna fuck Riverdale up with the expanded universe bullshit just the way the cw did with Arrow, aren't they?
