That's what i want to hear! More Pro Patches!
I think it also depends if they stick to 30fps for rt mode, if they do then with pssr 2.0 potential for some more rt is very real, if they will "upgrade" 30fps rt mode to 60 with rt, we can say any more advanced rt implementation goodbyeCerny said RT performance for this console is 2-4x that of the PS5. Should be able to include medium RTGI and reflections then.
But my guess is that they will just do a PSSR patch, and call it a day.
I'm fine with that, I'll just wait until the ps6 is out for phantom libertyMaybe it's really a PS6 patch?
Going with PSSR2 means they can probably get away with a 1080p base resolution and get comparable image quality (Maybe even better) than the current performance mode on PS5. A 1080p resolution on PRO could mean getting shadows AND reflections at 60 fps (I think RTGI is too much of a stretch). This is supposing they manage to keep CPU loads under control. I'm betting they can.
Personally, I hope they keep the current 1440p option and just replace FSR 2.1 with PSSR 2.0. I don't really want a hit on resolution. 1440p will still scale better to 4K than 1080p even if both are using PSSR 2.0.
Have you used DLSS 4 or FSR4? If not, you'll know that picture output looks really good from 1080p base resolution.Personally, I hope they keep the current 1440p option and just replace FSR 2.1 with PSSR 2.0. Even FSR4 at 720p looks better than this game at 1440p + FSR2. They should lower resolution and give us some RT at 60fpsPersonally, I hope they keep the current 1440p option and just replace FSR 2.1 with PSSR 2.0. Sure, if there's enough CPU headroom. Reflections would probably be the biggest improvement for this game in particular.Even FSR4 at 720p looks better than this game at 1440p + FSR2. They should lower resolution and give us some RT at 60fps
None so far, but it runs really well on the Pro. FPS is more stable vs. base PS5.No pro support for Witcher 3?
Even if that means sacrificing RT settings or performance on a potential pro mode?
Remember that one of the main benefits of PSSR2 is being able to drop resolution without getting a perceivable hit in overall IQ. I'm much more inclined on getting good RT with solid 60 fps.
Change that 30fps to 40fps and I'll jump back in.Given the time they've had since the Pro launched, it's interesting that they are deciding to do a full on patch with PSSR now. That implies that they are doing more to optimize the game for the Pro. Best case scenario we'll get the following:
This would be awesome if they can make it happen!
- Performance Pro Mode: The standard PS5's RT quality mode but running at 4K/60fps using PSSR 2 (RT shadows only)
- RT Pro Mode: Additional RT features such as RTGI and/or RT Reflections added to the game running at 4K/30fps using PSSR 2
Wait until you see the expansion they have planned for 2031!They work fast damn
