Cyberpunk 2077 getting a PS5 Pro patch

Cerny said RT performance for this console is 2-4x that of the PS5. Should be able to include medium RTGI and reflections then.

But my guess is that they will just do a PSSR patch, and call it a day.
I think it also depends if they stick to 30fps for rt mode, if they do then with pssr 2.0 potential for some more rt is very real, if they will "upgrade" 30fps rt mode to 60 with rt, we can say any more advanced rt implementation goodbye :messenger_sunglasses:

For comparision 16gigs rx 9060xt here (which is rough estimate how ps5pr0 performs), 1080p but with fsr on quality, no fake frames, gets full rt including psycho lighting settings(obviously no pt) and game sits at around 50 when there is barely nothing on screen, it will definitely drop much lower when shit hits the fan, so 30fps pr0 mode with those settings would be doable 4sure (pssr 2.0 instead, and native res below 1080p, maybe not 720p but 900p or so? ).

TLDR- with pssr 2.0 aka internal res being relatively low(720-900p) and 30fps mode we definitely can get proper rt on the pr0 finally.

Given the time they've had since the Pro launched, it's interesting that they are deciding to do a full on patch with PSSR now. That implies that they are doing more to optimize the game for the Pro. Best case scenario we'll get the following:
  • Performance Pro Mode: The standard PS5's RT quality mode but running at 4K/60fps using PSSR 2 (RT shadows only)
  • RT Pro Mode: Additional RT features such as RTGI and/or RT Reflections added to the game running at 4K/30fps using PSSR 2
This would be awesome if they can make it happen!

FINALLY.

I already played the shit out of this game on PC but I am happy for PS5 Pro owners. It's my favorite game of the generation so far. It's ridiculous that the most graphically advanced game in existence didn't have a Pro patch.

I think that msg gives us 2 clear pieces of information, pr0 version wont take too long, likely few more weeks, 2-3 months worst case scenario, cdpr wanna have solid few months of gap before gta6 drops so i say summer 2026 sometime is probable date, maybe late june, maybe tiny bit later.
2nd info- for cdpr amount of ps5pr0 in the wild now or at least predicted amount in few months is now worth it to work on free patch to boost cp2077 sales to pr0 users, i think they are predicting console gonna break 20m units relatively soon, this year for sure which makes sense coz given gta6 launch total ps5+pr0 sales likely gonna break 120m units.

Lets not forget even if some1 gonna get gta6 for their pr0, they wont play gta6 only 4ever, sooner or later they will want another meaty chunk of high quality game and here cp2077 pr0 vesion comes sliding:

Maybe it's really a PS6 patch?
I'm fine with that, I'll just wait until the ps6 is out for phantom liberty 🤷‍♂️

It's also fine if it's for the pro and months away. I'm crazy busy, and just bought kingdom come deliverance 2, and crimson desert is out soon. I'm in no rush…

The other reason I've held off is also because I've been told the best way to experience it is interwoven in the main game and you should start a fresh game, which I can't say I'm thrilled about.

Going with PSSR2 means they can probably get away with a 1080p base resolution and get comparable image quality (Maybe even better) than the current performance mode on PS5. A 1080p resolution on PRO could mean getting shadows AND reflections at 60 fps (I think RTGI is too much of a stretch). This is supposing they manage to keep CPU loads under control. I'm betting they can.

Nice. They said they wouldn't do this and now they are. Glad I patiently waited to replay this game. Only play the original version on PC when it released. Looking forward to doing it all over again.

Personally, I hope they keep the current 1440p option and just replace FSR 2.1 with PSSR 2.0. I don't really want a hit on resolution. 1440p will still scale better to 4K than 1080p even if both are using PSSR 2.0.

Even if that means sacrificing RT settings or performance on a potential pro mode?

Remember that one of the main benefits of PSSR2 is being able to drop resolution without getting a perceivable hit in overall IQ. I'm much more inclined on getting good RT with solid 60 fps.

Have you used DLSS 4 or FSR4? If not, you'll know that picture output looks really good from 1080p base resolution.

Even FSR4 at 720p looks better than this game at 1440p + FSR2. They should lower resolution and give us some RT at 60fps

I would be surprised if they could give us RT at 60fps with only having to drop down to 1080p. Cyberpunk 2077 is pretty resource heavy in terms of RT.

Maybe they could simply extend the dynamic resolution window a bit wider, but I really don't want a 720 - 900p upscaled image.

IDK, just a personal preference, but I like the current 1440p target internal resolution with uncapped VRR frame rate. It really was the FSR 2.1 holding the game back.

I think the best solution would be to offer both a standard performance mode and a performance RT mode.
