New episode tonight:
The Enemies of Man

Leonardo returns to learn that Duke Federico has been ruling Florence with an iron fist; a sinful Riario seeks redemption; King Ferrante negotiates with Lorenzo.

Cool episode. I loved Clarice taking care of business. Right through the damn eye.

It's so weird that two of my favorite shows currently on are airing on Saturday night.

I have to admit, Lara Pulver looked pretty damn delicious in that slave corset. YOWZA

Very disappointed that they made Carlo, the only black cast member left (RIP to Riario's main thang) a fucking badguy but Lara Pulver looking amazing as usual eased the blow.

Great episode. I can't believe that one eyed dude made Clarice into his very own Slave Leia. lol

Making him into a villain is a lot more interesting than keeping him in Florence to be Clarice's political conspirator/fuck buddy. This ensures that he'll have a lot more juicy material in the future and it gives Da Vinci a new main antagonist now that Riario has gone the way of the antihero.

If Riario joins the Enemies of Man, pretty sure he'll firmly be a villain.

Riario killed it this episode with his utter despair.

And he's the Hanging Man!

I did not like that 'twist' at the end of the episode . Introducing a new cult with a few lines of speech and then showing that all along Carlo was bad just felt like a cop-out. I think the twist would have been better if they had allowed the 'new cult' to have been introduced into the story for more than one episode and a few lines. I haven't been pleased with the plot this season, it has been too disjointed.

This is kinda how I feel right now too.

Well, the Enemies of Man aren't a new cult. Haven't they been the vague baddies since the beginning? This is just the first time we've seen them physically on screen outside of a dream or al Rahim's ramblings.

Carlo being a villain came outta fucking nowhere though, but I wanna see how this plays out.

Ya I definitely want to see how it plays out. I really want to see what is going to happen with Riario the most though.

I think it does not help that I thought the enemies of man were the combination of the Catholic church (specifically the fake Pope) and that the mention of the enemies of men was an ambiguous definition i.e. evil itself, greed, biblical references. I didn't expect it to be a specific cult.

Does anyone think the real pope will come back to power and be just as evil as the fake pope? His starting a war just to get his title back seems crazy to me.

This is the impression I've been getting from that storyline this season. He might not be as evil or even more evil but he's definitely some shade. Years of imprisonment colored him.

I thought it was just a metaphor... not an actual club with an "Enemies of Man" handshake and "Enemies of Man" business cards. It went from some cool mystery to PAGAN. All they need is some goat masks, goat leggings and a Virgin Connie Swail.

It's good to see he is going to have something to do, but I'll admit I didn't see this, not even sort of. He dropped a hint or two about the Book of Leaves, but nothing that didn't seem like his dad didn't just tell him a weird story.

I can see a crossover with Salem happening

I will tell you this... the best character this season, for me, was Count Riario. I went from hating him in S1 to absolutely loving the character by the last episode. I hope he does not become a scumbag again

Yep.

I didn't hate him in season 1 but just marveled at how much of a dick he was LOL

Season 2 tries to redeem him but he has done so much

Feels like it's been a month since the last episode. I hate when shows take a week off - it completely kills all of the momentum that had built up over the course of the season. Bleh. Still looking forward to tonight's episode though.

Another finale
with a cliffhanger
LOL

bunch of interesting things happened though (
now we know the new group wants to outright destroy the book
) which makes the fact a third season exists more comforting.

Now that's how you do a season finale. So much happened and they set up so many great things for next season. A+ all the way.

Ha ha, after last season I should've been ready for the cliffhanger.

Very good finale. I liked the scene on the ramparts with the morning light coming in behind them - looked very nice and Leo going to pat Lorenzo on the shoulder but stopping at the last second worked well.

"So what did the other side of the world look like."
"Different"
"You ever consider staying? Leaving all this behind?"
"And miss all the fun?"

Bring on season 3.

Oh shiiit! The chained woman was Da Vinci's mom all along! What a twist! How did no one guess that though? It's so obvious in retrospect!

Yeah, it was a very eventful finale that set up a ton of things for next season. I'm so glad the show was renewed because that would have made for a terrible series finale.

Wasn't obvious to me until she popped up early in this episode. Halfway through that scene in the start, where she talks about her chains I called it.

Yeah, that blew my mind even though it seems so obvious once it was revealed. It's great when a show can slip something like that by in plain sight.

Awesome ending. Sucks that it's another cliffhanger though, but it's fine lol. How could they have ended the series on that if it didn't get renewed? I can't wait for season three. I'll have to find something else to watch now that this is over and GoT will be done in a couple weeks.
