noticing a lot of pop in now
Outside of the auto-save stutter, the game had run flawless until just now. All of the sudden the camera went crazy and spun around my character at high speed. Ended up getting killed because of it.

yup, exactly the area im in now.
even when im right up to an enemy ill notice a part of their design popping in
my immersion
Let me know how the framerate holds up in multiplayer. Not yet.
The low FOV really makes this unplayable. I wonder why they changed it so drastically (since DS2 i.e.)?

Seems to be better today, even though I didn't change anything.
In regards to the stutter-on-save, we know that the game is saving to the servers as well as locally.. is it possible this is just network congestion? That the more people are playing at any given time, the worse it will be?
Did Durante mention it in his article?
If that's the case, will playing in offline mode fix the auto-save stuttering?
In theory, but that's a whole lot of "if", I have no idea.. lol. Maybe worth a shot for people having bad problems. If it doesn't work, at least we'll know.If that's the case, will playing in offline mode fix the auto-save stuttering?
Fuck this game. The farther you go in the worse the fucking thing performs. How the hell did this get out of quality control?
Specs?
My current issues aren't rig related. Right now co-op is completely, and utterly broken.
Are summons failing to connect? This also happened at the launch of DS2. I think it's because of too much traffic, but not on the way you think.
Summon signs are popping in multiple worlds. I think there is a delay when someone gets summoned before it disappears in everyone else's worlds. Lots of signs are dropping, but they are also getting picked up very quickly.
Essentially, you were too late to summon them because someone else already got them. I get the most "success" if I am lucky enough to immediately click on them when they appear. If they are there for more than a second or two, you are probably too late.
On the flip side, I get summoned fairly quickly and have only had one fail.
What makes this such a demanding game performance-wise? I can do DS2:SOTFS on moderate settings at a pretty smooth framerate, but I can barely stay at 30 on low settings in this in the castle wall area. Any time the dragon breathes or one of the zombies blow up, my framerate drops to below 10 and it boots me from online.
Looking like I'll have to play offline for this. That's no fun.
Bloodborne engine, a very big step up from DS2 SOTFS.
Well shit. In my opinion, SOTFS is the better looking game, but I was really looking forward to playing this.

When the hell did they change the recommended video card to be the minimum video card? I thought I might at least get to play on low settings with my crummy 560 Ti, but apparently not. Unplayable at any settings.
I just like the vibrant colors of DS2. Everything I've seen of this in videos and everything looks so washed out.
You've tested this? My friend is playing on a 560 Ti and having a good experience.

Comtroller is preferredShould I be playing this game with a controller? Or is mouse and keyboard preferred?
Are the crashes an Nvidia thing or both?
For people having abnormal performance issues I would suggest uninstalling drivers, booting safe mode and using DDU(Display Driver Uninstaller) especially with AMD cards. I think it was suggested when the crimson drivers came out. It can't hurt at any rate. It's on my list of things to try this afternoon. Thanks for the reminder.
You have strange eyes my friend, DS3 on max settings is stunning.
The art direction is stunning, that much is certain. But it's not a technical marvel by any means. Many games from 2012-2013 are much more impressive in terms of IQ and tech.
Hmm, seems to have granted me considerably better performance. I used DDU to remove all traces of Crimson beta drivers and went right back to the last official Catalyst drivers from 2015.
Only had 2 minutes to play around in the second area, right near the second boss door, but immediately was met with vastly improved frame rates and a change in video quality. Indeed, so much so that I bumped the res back up to the native 1680*1050 (from 720p).
I'll duck into the other settings later, see what I can change from 'off' and 'low', while still maintaining as near-to 60fps as possible. But promising so far.
I'm in a near-identical situation, (specs, settings, fps). I'm hoping the new patch (which really should be coming soon, cuz this lighting/bonfire crash situation is a fucking joke) will also improve performance. This borderline-clickbait website suggests it will be the case, but they're the only source.Starting to wonder if it's impossible to get a constant 60 FPS at 1920x1080 (i5 2500K @ 4.2 GHz, GTX 670 Power Edition SLI [2 GB VRAM), 8 GB DDR3 RAM). I run the game with all settings on High, minus DoF and motion blur (set to Medium) and lighting (set to Low to avoid crashes). I've never seen the game go over my VRAM limit, unless FPS affects VRAM usage, which I don't believe it does. The only crashes I've had were the all too common bonfire ones. I have the latest WHQL drivers (364.72) and force max performance, shader cache, FXAA and V-sync in the NVCP.
When I run the game without a 30 FPS cap, it constantly drops 1-4 frames (for instance, if I jog around the first bonfire in the, my FPS will usually go from 60 to 59 or 58 back to 60 as I move) no matter where I go. I thought maybe it had to do with how the game loads assets, but installing to an SSD changed nothing.High Wall of Lothric
Could a future patch possibly fix this issue or is time to upgrade?
Yesterday the game was running perfectly. Now it's not loading anything. Uhhhhhhh
Just quit the game and steam thinks it's still running. What the helllll
Hmm I was suggesting removing all drivers and using the latest Crimson drivers. Im using a
6600K@4.4GHz
16GB DDR 4@3GHz
7970 @1000/1500
I get 60fps with almost zero drops on med except max textures and high ssao.
Should I be playing this game with a controller? Or is mouse and keyboard preferred?
Dumb question but how do you monitor fps on PC?
I'm getting a crash when walking away from the first bonfire in High Wall of Lothric. I already set my lighting to low. Any ideas?![]()
