Is this a joke?

Rey Palpatine Skywalker is unironically the most powerful person in the galaxy, in the current Star Wars canon. Which is why the ST needs to be decanonized.
I'm really glad I never finished watching the latest movies…

Rey can't even swing a sword. FFS, she looks like a drunk monkey swinging a branch. Though this is mostly due to Daisy Ridley's lack of talent.
On the other hand, Raymond Park can do proper choreography and fighting.

regarding the sequels and their need for de-canonization...

As reported widely, it's amazing that the entire sequel trilogy has disappeared from cultural impact after it completed, and even the much-maligned prequel trilogy gets dramatically higher viewership today.

Your brain can instantly decide whether something is authentic. Is this person dangerous with a lightsaber? Would you be intimidated? Rey would die instantly without plot armor. Daisy Ridley can't pull it off.

Meanwhile confident, practiced, and athletic just hits different.

Rey absolutely mauls maul, her powerlevel is too dang high.
In terms of pure skill only obi wan, mace and yoda got it over maul, anakin was probably at the same level.

Disney would probably confirm that this is canonically true, but no Star Wars fan in the right mind would tell you Rey would beat Palpatine, Yoda, Dooku, Mace Windu, Anakin, Obi-Wan or even Luke in a straight up fight. Hell she even loses to Ben in the third movie.

This is a victory, Ill take it.

But I have to admit seeing Phantom Menace beat Empire makes my piss get a lil heated.

Even practicing looks fun as hell. Sure it's all memorized choreograpy, but they do such a great job. Love the pat on the back Ray gives Ewan :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:

Also notice that during the movie, that scene is carried by Ray Park. He is the one that is doing the difficult stuff, the most complex moves.
He really looks like a menace that can take on 2 Jedis at once.

Then we have Daisy Ridley', which looks like someone a few moves away from sticking her lightsaber trough her own head.

Fun fact: Hayden kept making the light sabre noises during filming and they kept telling him to stop and that they'd put the sounds in later.

I also blame the lack of consistent coreography and camerawork, because there were even sloppy issues with Kylo's fights and Finn's fights after part 7.

A random bad show managed to make Carrie-Anne Moss and Amandla Stenberg look better within just 5 minutes, vs 3 full movies of Rey vs everyone.

The question isn't who should win. It's who would win. It's Rey.

In a straight-up lightsaber duel, no Force powers: Maul wins. But add in Force powers, and she clears. TK to throw him around, mind trick him into self-bisecting, or stay at range and cheese saber throws at him.

Rey would easily win. Maul is terrible, he lost to a padawan that did a little flip above him...

like... please.

yeah, she is a terrible character, but I bet even pre-Jedi Knight Luke would destroy Maul

Maul did win Qui-Gon.

yes, but Qui Gon was in the end just an ordinary Jedi, as was Obi-Wan, who instantly killed him afterwards by doing the most mid-ass flip move lol.

and I agree with Liam Neeson, the way he beat Qui-Gon was kinda laughable as well. the whole end to that fight was a real weak point in general. both Qui-Gon and Maul were beaten in the most retarded ways possible, after an insane fight that was so damn fast that they had to slow the footage down in post because they thought people wouldn't be able to follow the moves.

so super quick jedi reaction speed, during an insanely fast fight... and then Qui-Gon does get beaten by a cheap ass knot to the head with his hilt? naaaah... and Obi-Wan does a gay little flip above Maul to beat him? fuck off!

I'd like to say Maul would win, but we all know Disney would have Rey win. Mary Sue can't lose after all.

Bruh

xLiteral Evil Space Jesus at the peak of his powers, Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar
xGeneral Grievous
xDarth Maul
xPonda Baba

We really calling Obi-Wan Kenobi ordinary

at the time when he fought against Maul he was ordinary yes.

Anakin lost because he wasn't actually thinking straight, he was filled with rage and jumped straight into obi-wan (the same way Obi-Wan jumped into Maul btw.) leaving him open for an easy attack. and Obi-wan was more experienced at that point as well.
in Episode 1 he literally was still a padawan after all.

Grievous wasn't even a jedi or sith, he was a cyborg with lung issues whose main advantage was the amount of arms he had. honestly, any jedi should have been able to just instantly kill him by force choking his lungs... what would he do against such a move? wave his arms around angrily?

Rey is not stronger than anyone.

What she has is plot armor, not power. If they want to decide that this pretentious girl that doesnt even know how to swing a lightsaber can fly, then she will fly. Thats about it.
She wouldn't win because she has a better training, better power level or stronger handling with the force.

That stupid scene looks like she literally rip her own right hand with that lightsaber show.

Maul earnt his power, Rey did not. Maul's training was pretty brutal and intense, especially if you read the books. Honestly though even Luke's training felt rushed like Rey's, it doesn't feel like eithe received much at all.

Mual is the better duelist and was trained as an Assassin and enforcer.

bruv, mace and obi-wan are the absolute best in lightsaber combat the order had at the time; he might've still been in training but the raw potential was always there and it came out when his master was killed.

said potential being doing a slow flip above Maul and doing a straight slash... while Maul just stood there, looking confused like an idiot.

the way Maul was defeated by Obi-Wan makes him look like a pushover.
now that's certainly an issue of bad filmmaking, but those films is where we need to base our prediction on 🤷

and going by the material available, Maul is an idiot that gets outplayed by a flip, and Rey is mary sue that can force lightning explode a spaceship from miles away

basically, because Episode 1 is a bad movie, Maul looks like an idiot.
and because Episode 9 is an even worse movie, Rey looks overpowered af.

Maul would DESTROY Rey. Like it wouldn't even be a fair fight. He's far more skilled with the lightsaber AND with force powers.
