Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
He didn't ruin shit. There was no way he'd ever meet the elevated, $50 Million funny type expectations.

Was he feeling pressure to do better than both the previous seasons? Why? Both seasons had hit or miss skits and CC was just trying to lock him up because he was a hot talent, not because they expected a HUGE jump in quality... The more I read the more I feel like Dave put the pressure on himself that he just HAD to exceed seasons 1 and 2 or else it wouldn't be good enough.

I thought last nights ep was hilarious. You might not get Black White Supremicist, Wayne Brady ect. every night, but when each sketch is still better then the best other sketch comedies shows on currently can offer I won't be one complaining.

Absolutely loved this episode. It was the kind of crazy out there comedy from season 1! That's something I thought was missing a bit in season 2, which got a bit too focused purely on black issues/black history to the point that sometimes, the humor suffered, though it could also be a lot wittier. And I think one of my favorite bits is the bodyguard talking about how "it doesn't matter what do you do each season, they'll always say your last one was better!" which is so funny, and also a great dig at people who said season 2 sucked (mostly when it started getting popular) and season 1 was better. Which I realize probably sounds hypocritical from reading the first part of my post, but I'm just saying that sometimes season 2 got too tied up into jokes that for the most part only a black audience would get, while season 1 was funny all across the board.

Something I've been curious about, though: Are the dudes hosting the show doing this against Dave's wishes? I thought they were close friends and I'm surprised they're doing that when he's made it well known he doesn't endorse the show anymore.

Lets be honest here. It wasn't that good.
I laughed when Dave got revenge on the wheelchair owner of the club but that was it. Even then, it didn't even come close to some of his best (the guy doing the robot, black-white supremacist, etc.) This seemed like it would be some fluff skit in Season 1 and a secondary theme in Season 2.
If Dave said the reason why he left at Season 3 because it sucked, I have to agree with him. The episode in general did pretty much suck. Personally, I'd prefer Dave take a few years off and do his own thing and maybe come back for an HBO show or something along those lines. Who knows? If he never does another TV series again, I'd have no problem with it.
Instead of trying to force a laugh from the Season 3 episodes, just watch Seasons 1 and 2 and legitimately laugh your ass off. I know I will be. I'm curious on how the rest of the Season 3 will turn out but my expectations are pretty low.

You know when the little graphic pops up and you have to type in 3 letters/numbers to verify you're not some automated program? You only have about 30-60 seconds to type it in before the download-session expires. If I take too long, I always get that message. Try watching the countdown and type in the number as soon as it pops up and see if that helps.

I don't think Dave gives a crap about his career right now. He's really trying to fit into normal life, raise his kids all that, and apparently do some stand-up here and there. I stood in line behind him at my grocery store where he was talking to someone and they asked him how it was going. He replied: "It's definitely been better, but it's also been worse too." Which I thought was a pretty good attitude. He's hanging out downtown all the time and is pretty cool about people talking to him. He's out and about so much I think he's trying to habituate people to his presence. For awhile after he left the show he was around, but much more withdrawn. He seems a lot more laid back now.
His wife has never been on the show, but I've seen his wife and she is pretty hawt. His kids are pretty cute lil' guys too. One of them was in the front page picture of the local paper dancing to some street musicians.
I will always be disappointed that the show is gone forever, but I've been a fan of Dave for a long time, since I found out he was from my area, back before Men in Tights. He needs to do what's best for him and it's clear he doesn't care about fame or fortune. I'm sure his career isn't over, but I don't think we'll see anything big from him in awhile. Ya can't keep a good man down!
