I didn't grow up listening to his music, but I heard his recent album and absolutely loved it.

I'm glad he got to see it released and praised before he passed. Rest in peace.

The drive back home was bittersweet, radio was all David Bowie today and as the they went from one classic to another it's unbelievable how talented he was. One of the best musicians that truly carried generations of fans.

Rest well.

James Gunn Says David Bowie Was Under Consideration for Guardians 2

“Just a very short while ago Kevin Feige and I were talking about a cameo role in ‘Guardians Vol. 2,’ and he brought up Bowie’s name,” wrote Gunn. “I told him nothing in the world would make me happier, but I heard from common friends he wasn’t doing well. We heard back that he was okay and it could potentially happen. Who knows what that was about? But, for whatever reason, it made my Twitter revelation more of a surprise.”

Rattling through all the LPs of his I own, I just happend to sort out my record listening set-up yesterday as well.

Im not usually into the whole RIP thing with celebrity's but this is different.

Had to explain to a few people at work that his Ex being in Big Brother or some shite like that is not why he is famous..

Wow, I just a commercial for his new album yesterday. That's fucking crazy man. I was like, shit this guy still putting out new music and then bam this news..

RIP

I agree. Actually reminds me of something that could have been on Earthling. I like the album version, but the remix is on another level.

I have fond memories of Heathen, it was really the final push that really got me into Bowie. The bonus disc had a decent Moby remix as well, though his style is slightly played out nowadays, but at the time I loved his remix of Sunday. The Air remix still holds up really well and I just wish Bowie had explored that style of sound more.

Caught one of his shows many moons ago in Moncton. Such a unique and creative artist.
He had his share of hits but I never thought being rich and famous was ever top priority to him. Creativity was most important.

Blackstar is a fine final note to go out on. It's really worth a listen.

Before this, the only music I've listened from him was Starman (and not even his version, but an authorized brazilian version).

Anyways, RIP.

Bowie's playfulness made his genius all the more awesome. He wasn't above doing stuff like cameoing in Zoolander as himself.

Reading about how he seems to have planned all of this stuff surrounding his death just makes me miss him more. He got a cancer diagnosis and one of the things he seems to have thought of was "How can I make my exit from this world complete and artistically interesting?" I guess he was waiting for the album and the video for Lazarus to come out before finally passing.

What a badass, even in death.

Damn, this is sad. I saw his commericial for the new single yesterday. The weird thing is that I didn't recognize him in the video. I thought he actually was someone comletely else, until the labels came up for him. I can't believe he died though. I really don't know much about him as a person, but I know how iconic he was to his profession.

I don't know what to say. There never was and never will be someone like him in the music industry ever again. Thank you for everything, David Bowie!

David Bowie and Donald Trump are the same age, yet this happened to Bowie and not Trump. Let that sink in. We truly are living in the darkest timeline.

I woke up and saw this on Facebook and immediately thought my gullible friends had been taken. Realizing that it was true was so awful. I love Bowie.
