According to Bloody-Disgusting:

"Some of the boys behind the remakes of The Amityville Horror, Terror Train and The Wicker Man are back again and remaking George Romero's classic zombie splatterfest Day of the Dead, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Working with Nu Image and Millennium Films, Producers James Dudelson, Avi Lerner and Randall Emmett are bringing Romero's third zombie flick back to the big screen together. In the 1985 verison a small group of military officers and scientists dwell in an underground bunker as the world above is overrun by zombies."

Hmmm, I wonder if they'll use the original script before Romero was forced to make all his cuts...

Wicker Man's still in the works. I'd be wary, but it's Neil Labute! Rock.

Wait, Nick Cage is involved. Still wary.

Huh? I dont think its that much weaker than Dawn, some of it is wayyy better.. acting, script and fx (Savini's best work outside Friday13th 4).

I really didn't think Day was that bad. Day doesn't need to be remade, just continue the story from the Dawn remake.

I wouldn't mind an actual sequel to the Dawn remake with the same creative team from that remake. But none of these people were associated with that, and anyone associated with that damn Amityville remake should just be shot or forced to do nothing but work with Uwe Boll for the rest of their career.

*Cautiously optimistic*

Is there anything remotely like the situation with Romero's Dead movies? Were it not for the impending release of Land of the Dead, it would be a loosely connected series released throughout ~17 years, each of which is remade by different groups throughout a period of ~17 years, for the most part with very little input from Romero himself.
