Hey, guys: Different developer, different type of game play. Looks pretty promising to me.

I have a weird feeling this game is actually going to play worse than Budokai. Budokai was a big step up from any DBZ fighting game the japanese ever made. I hope i'm wrong though.

Nah, the best DBZ fighting game is still Hyper Dimension on the Super Famicom, followed by DBZ Super Sonic Warriors on the GBA IMO.

Hands-On: http://www.gamedaily.com/fightinggamehub/article.asp?section=preview_template&article_id=85

Atari just previewed this again this week, so more hands-on will be surfacing very soon. However, this plays almost exactly like Budokai 3. I didn't like it at all. All of the characters are still almost identical, and it's just a very shallow fighter.

Whaaaaat? They COPIED the engine from the Budokai series? :/ It looked pretty different from the E3 videos I saw.

Is it too much to wish for original voice actors and music? i saw the US intro for the first time in a while and it's so INYOURFACEEXTREMEMOTHERFUCKER!!!!111ICHI!!!1 i barely recognized it.

The buttons have been moved around a bit, but it's essentially the same. After I got adjusted to the new layout it felt almost identical to Budokai 3. -_-

It's a new developer, but they're trying to make a Budokai 4, essentially.

The biggest change is the behind-the-character camera. Two player mode is split-screen now.

Plus movie characters and a huge roster.

Bojack, Broly, etc. have all been seen so far.

For now the Legacy of Goku series and DBZ Sagas as ARPGs are the closest we're going to get.

A DBZ rpg would be friggin' epic in size. It'd have to be at least four parts.

damn, that is some of the best cel-shading yet.

Very true, when the images were loading (yay I'm on 56k) and I could only see Hercule I thought for sure it was a picture from the cartoon. The stage is the only part that really says polygons.

Hell no. The Super Famicom fighters were pretty good and Hyper Dimension kicked ass. Of course I was like 9-10 when I played these so maybe nostalgia is clouding my judgement for the ones prior to HD...

I wouldn't mind buying it in four parts if it stayed true to the series. That would be sweet and you know it would sell like hotcakes.

I was also really partial to Dragon Ball Z: Legends. Was on Saturn and PS. Fun game, and stuck very close to the manga as it played out. Good fighting, flying, moves, explosions. Good shit.

Budokai 3 was fun multiplayer, I played it a few times with friends and it was a blast. Don't understand the hate.

You would figure it wouldn't take a long time to make a good fighting game out of DBZ. Just give it to Capcom already and let it get done.

They are good. Haven't you played them? Budokai 3 is easily the best DBZ game ever.

1 and 2 are total shit, havent played 3 though, it has unique movelists (it took 3 games to get this?) but im sure it still sucks

dbz legends for ps1 is still my fav dbz game.

budokai actually made me like dragon ball z and this looks pretty decent to me as long as it is a little bit changed from the 3rd one which i never got this could be a sale for me, only problem with the series for me is the way of unlocking characters.

I have played them ALOT. Sure Budokai 3 had really nice touches but as a pure fighting game it was completely BROKEN.

It *looks* really good. If this had come out ten years earlier, back when I was a DBZ nut, I'd be wetting my pants in excitement.

The Budokai series is good if you like DBZ and aren't really into to fighting games that much. If you're hardore into fighting games (other than DOAU and MKD) then you'll find Budokai (any of them) to be trash.

Judging from the videos, it looks to play just like Zone of Enders 2, but not with a dozen enemies around you. The environments are HUGE and destructable.

a GOOD fighting game they are not. Would you honestly try to compare them to other fighting games? I do think budokai's were getting there, but I would take the Naruto fighters over them any day of the week but I still wouldn't even compare the Naruto fighters to some of the best fighting games out there.

Holy SHIT!!! I LITERALLY mistook these screen shots for actual screens from the Anime!! Holy fuck what the hell is going on with cel-shading these days? That shit looks REMARKABLE!

THIS IS WHAT I WANT A FINAL FANTASY GAME TO LOOK LIKE! Not that CG crap they've been making.
