Atari just previewed this again this week, so more hands-on will be surfacing very soon. However, this plays almost exactly like Budokai 3. I didn't like it at all. All of the characters are still almost identical, and it's just a very shallow fighter.

Hell no. The Super Famicom fighters were pretty good and Hyper Dimension kicked ass. Of course I was like 9-10 when I played these so maybe nostalgia is clouding my judgement for the ones prior to HD...sykoex said:I have a weird feeling this game is actually going to play worse than Budokai. I wouldn't mind buying it in four parts if it stayed true to the series. That would be sweet and you know it would sell like hotcakes.M3wThr33 said:For now the Legacy of Goku series and DBZ Sagas as ARPGs are the closest we're going to get.
A DBZ rpg would be friggin' epic in size. It'd have to be at least four parts.
Lyte Edge said:Nah, the best DBZ fighting game is still Hyper Dimension on the Super Famicom, followed by DBZ Super Sonic Warriors on the GBA IMO.

They are good. Haven't you played them? Budokai 3 is easily the best DBZ game ever.Ponn01 said:You would figure it wouldn't take a long time to make a good fighting game out of DBZ. Just give it to Capcom already and let it get done.

Some screens from the fmv intro.
I think it also answers that other topic of "how next gen cel shading should look".
