Deactivating your social media: The Breaking Point

I deleted my Facebook last year when I realized I was a loser. No one would post on my statuses and no one would attempt to contact me.

The only thing I could ever do was look at pictures of my "friends" having fun. I wish I could have deleted it because I got stupid comments. Stupid comments are better than no comments. Felt bad man.

If I knew people would talk to me I would go back in a second.

Only two social medias I use are Facebook, and twitter. And I only use twitter to talk to game producers, and community managers of game companies to try and get help when I encounter a bug or something doesn't work right.

The only reason i have social media accounts are for work.

Prior to this i deleted all my facebook./twitter/linked in and it was the best decision of my life. If people want to talk to me they can email and call me.,

Now i have so many things on social media and i just cbf with them

My younger brother just had this same epiphany a few months back. I've never had a FB page and have always talked shit about the ego-driven, narcissistic nature of it, but it was interesting watching him come to the same conclusions after years of actually being a part of it.

It dawned upon me that most adults are overgrown children mentally. Drama, fishing for compliments, shit stirring, nosiness, gossip, bragging, etc. I don't need any of that bullshit in my life and I actively avoid it.

I just use Facebook to chat and post pictures/videos that also have people on my friends list in them. I didn't use any social media for years until just a few weeks ago. I don't post anything on the wall or status. Maybe it's just me, but I assume most people wouldn't care to know those things about me. I know I sure as hell don't care when someone on my list "likes" something.

Deleted some pre-FB local social media thingie recently. Never joined the Twitter bandwagon. But I feel I spend way to much time on FB, so I've been thinking about ditching it. But a more effective and radical step would be to dump the internet connection at home completely. Since I'm reading and practicing Rhinehart's dice-life again occasionally, I'll dice about it :).

I don't have any friction with social media. It's a way to talk with people and share media OH THE HORROR.

I don't think that I can deactivate my Facebook account. It's a great way for keeping up with friends quickly and easily. It's pretty much my go-to tool for communicating with my brother who lives halfway across the world.

Everything on my Facebook news feed is full of people "liking' pure stupid shit so i may deactivate it for a while, who knows.
