Just got this e-mail from Ebgames.com

Hello from EBgames.com!

The information contained in this e-mail is very important as it may require an action on your part. Please read carefully.

* Dead or Alive 4 has been delayed until December 1, 2005. Because of this we have replaced it with Call of Duty 2 in your bundle. If you have ordered Call of Duty 2 apart from your Xbox 360 bundle and wish to cancel it or wish to cancel your bundle, you can do so by visiting the My Orders section of EBgames.com.

* Currently, we anticipate enough inventory at launch to fill all orders for the Ultimate Bundle placed before August 30 and all orders placed for the Core Bundle before October 28. You can check the My Orders section of EBgames.com to verify the day that you placed your order. Pending payment approval, we plan to ship orders from this first shipment on Monday, November 21, at the shipping service level you selected. We do not have firm information on subsequent shipments at this time and will ship future orders as inventory becomes available.

* We will begin processing payments for all orders that fall into our first shipment on November 18. Your credit card will be billed for the full amount of your order. Please ensure that funds are available and the billing address you provided matches what your credit card company has on file, otherwise we cannot process your order and you may risk losing your place in line. If we require additional information to process your payment, you will have 24 hours to respond. If we do not hear back within 24 hours, you will lose your place in line. If your order falls in the first shipment range, please check your e-mail on November 19 in case we need to communicate with you regarding payment processing.

Supplies of the Xbox 360 are extremely limited. All of the information above is based on our best information as of November 9th. Release dates and/or the amount of orders we are able to ship at launch are subject to change and we can not guarantee timing or availability. In addition, if you have placed multiple orders for Xbox 360 via our stores and online, it is very likely that we will not be fulfilling all of the orders at the same time due to the limited supply.

If you have any questions, you can reply to this e-mail. E-mails usually receive a response within 24-48 hours.

Best Regards,

EBgames.com

hmmm.

Shity I'd hate it if I had to get DOA4 replaced with CoD2. I'd rather pay the extra shipping cost and get it when it arrives.

Seems that way. Even the EB site says it was changed to 12/1.... oh well..

Even more disturbing though is the fact that you ordered a bundle... omgwtf!

Man... so what's left for launch day? The Activision stuff, the EA stuff, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero and PGR 3? So much for the "greatest launch line-up ever". :(

Because DOA is delayed a week? :lol

Anyway, remember MS' stand on the launch. "Launch Window" not launch day.

Interestingly enough - I haven't recieved this email. I checked my order at EBGames.com and it still shows DoA4, however the anticipated ship date for that title is showing as 12/1. Dunno if they just haven't updated all the orders yet.

However, its good news that they expect to fill all orders place before Aug. 30. Woohoo!

Dead or Alive 4 is delayed in Europe as well. Next year apparentely... january/february I guess.
Yeah, the European release was announced a while back. We.. well.. I (:D) was just being hopefull that the US release was still on track.

Perhaps the game failed to go gold until this week instead of last week ? that would make it a tight pressing to get a few thousand over here for north american launch. Tecmo never 100% confirmed the game for US launch either, just japanese launch and like what's been mentioned in threads about other game delays I'd rather have a finished game then a rushed one especially since I ain't buying the system until the end of the year anyway.

December 1st is a Thursday. I'm guessing that's a placeholder date. It'll probably release sometime later in December.

There are rumors on 2ch that japanese DOA4 release is delayed till mid-January too.

...and that probably means the US release is later than 12/1. 12/1, as noted above, is likely a placeholder. That's the date EB uses when they don't know when something will be in within that month.

:lol Its more a matter of having the convenience of not driving/waiting in line/squeezing between smelly Xbox nerds on launch day. Plus, I would've bought all the stuff in the bundle anyways. Sucks about DOA 4 though :( I've already got Call of Duty 2 for the PC, so I'll see if i can get EB to switch it over to another game. I'm thinking Condemned.

Hasn't every Team Ninja game been met with multiple small delays before they actually come out?

:(

Oh well...

So is the only Japanese developed game at launch RR6?

You know, I'm planning on buying a system in a couple weeks, basically because my job demands it. However, this is what I have to pick from between now and 12/31/2005 as game choices...

Condemned
Perfect Dark Zero
Kameo
Project Gotham Racing 3
Dead or Alive 4
King Kong
Call of Duty 2
Gun
Quake 4
Tony Hawk American Wasteland
Tiger Woods 2006
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Ridge Racer 6
FIFA 06
NHL 2K6
Amped 3
NBA 2K6
NBA Live 06
Madden 06

I'm sorry. This is not a lineup of games that screams "Best Launch Ever" like some have claimed. Most are already available in comparable PC versions or will be by the time 360 launches. At least Dead or Alive 4 gave me something to look forward to that wasn't a PC-style game too. It also will undoubtedly be of high polish and quality. Now we get... um... two games from Japan? This is the new Microsoft? This is the console for casual gamers? Well, maybe that last part is true if by casual they mean, "Yearly staples for the drooling masses."

Things like that are always going to be subjective. It's not the "best launch ever" to you? Ok? A lot of people disagree.

It's the "best launch ever" compared to past consoles and that's what it should be compared to. The fact that X game is available on pc or X amount of games are sequels doesn't change that fact. That statement is said relating to consoles.

Still, as I said.. it's always going to be subjective.

Holy shit. The bundles only went up for sale a week before that! Obviously many, many more people ordered during the additional month or so they were available for after. EB is seriously getting fucked in the ass when it comes to allocation.

The Japanese release date is December 10 (the system's launch date). I haven't seen anything about the game getting delayed where I shop, but then again, I haven't seen so much as a display or a flyer for the 360, either. :)

Hmm...I am planning on buying the 360 at launch for RR6 and DOA4. If DOA4 is delayed, I don't know if I am going to bother with purchasing a 360 this year.

Actually, it does matter that several of the launch games are available for other systems. Part of what makes console launches an event is seeing games that have never been seen before running on the new hardware. That doesn't mean 'multiplatform games with improved models and textures' or 'well-known PC games that you've probably seen before, but are new for consoles.' There are a few gems in the list Dave posted, but for the 'best launch ever', I'd expect more exclusive, never-before-seen games than I'm seeing there. *shrug*

looks liek it is indeed delayed... dammnit

Hmmm, looking at the lineup now, the only games that would appeal to me are PGR3, PD0 and NFS: MW

Edit: Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute....Lost Odyssey in January? Is that just a place holder? If not then...

:o

Same boat as you but still getting one for RR6.

Should easily tide me over till DOA4 is out.

Well true enough Tellerin but the thing is though if you compare the games still coming out in the first day or 2 of this systems release to system launches in the past you'd be hard pressed to find a system with has good a luanch, I mean the PS2 launched with 26 games and 18 of them were total swass 3 of them were okay and the other 5 were good. 360 still looks to have 15 or so decent looking games at launch with another 15 in or so over a couple months time. See that's the other thing, launch day means little if the launch window and beyond has a distinct lack of software. MS is rolling out the first party guns day 1 with 3rd parties following suit every month for the next 6 months. Comparitivaly at the PS2 launch youhad the 26 aforementioned mostly garbage games followed by a drought rivaled only by the one nintendo had from 96 through most of 97. There wasn't really a game worth buying a PS2 for out until november of 2001 and even that's debatable.

Really though it goes back to being an opinionated taste thing, I suppose if you have a capable PC then by all means give those versions of the launch games your dollars, chances are it's better there.

"Don't worry about our singular launch day, we have a launch window- open and allowing the fresh air to come in for weeks and months!"

X360 launch window: the whole first fucking year of the system release, it seems. That's actually brilliant. They could say "Yup, we released 70+ games in our launch window. Eat it Sony!" :)

DAMN!

*punches wall*

well... there's still ridge racer, pdz, and nba 2k6

but doa 4 would have made the circle complete ya know.

Most definitely a placeholder. Blue Dragon is farther along, and that's still like a year off.

I went ahead and reserved the system anyway today. I'll have RR6 and PDZ to play at launch, plus I still have yet to play Ninja Gaiden Black...hope it's compatible right at the start.
