Dead or Alive 5 Last Round PC Information is Finally out

Quick impressions:
-Games runs flawlessly on my R9 290: Never goes beyond 50% usage, with 1080p, 2xSSAA, 2048x2048 shadows.
-My arcade stick is recognized ! Great !
-Custom controls allowed, except for keyboard... even though, I don't know who plays fighting game with a keyboard.

To be honest, I was doubtful, but I'd take any day the perfect IQ over rounder breasts... the only downside so far is lack of online play and the two missing stages. Not a perfect port, but not an horrible port either.

I'm gonna try 4k now and 2xSSAA for fun hahaha.

Yisss!!!
Let me know how 4k runs.

That about sums up Koei Tecmo's handling of everything ever.

It seems the game won't run if I don't match the desktop resolution. Well, in any case, 1080 + 4xSSAA and 4096x4096 shadows still run flawlessy.
My GPU never hit its 1Ghz or even 900mhz clock and it keeps going at 60FPS. Just wonderful.

What if you enabled virtual super resolution in Catalyst?

Here's some quick pics of the game on PC. I know people who'll post better, but I figured I'd share. Preorder costumes were in there as far as I saw. No option to enable all costumes with the button presses like in the console versions. 360 wired controller was recognized instantly.

Full Screen and Windowed options. Resolution goes up to 3840x2160, no 1440p or fullscreen windowed though :(
Max Shadow Resolution: 4096x4096.
Max AA: 4x SSAA.
Running those settings, I was getting frame hiccups down to 15fps approximately. Most of the time it ran 60, and jumped down to 15ish twice mid fight for no reason. Character intros run at 30, fights 60. Currently running a 3570k OC'd to 4.4 and SLI 680s. I'll try single GPU and see if it changes anything.

Downloading the game right now. Any experience with a wired Xbox 360 arcade stick? I'm guessing it should work fine if a regular wired controller works.

Works fine on my side as well... I have an latop with i73610q, ati radeon 7670m ,4gb ram and the game i running fine. At one point i was afraid it would be a disaster full port but in the end its seems to be okay. Hopefully they will patch the online soon

Edit: im running it at 1366X768 with shadows turned off

Isn't it limited to 3200x1800 ? I tried but the maximum resolution I could get is that.

I tried with a wireless Xbox 360 pad and a wired 360 pad... both worked perfectly. And of course, a PS3 Hori arcade stick. Recognized instantly.

Yikes, my laptop cannot run this game at respectable specs. I wasn't expecting 4K with 4X FSAA or whatever, but it still runs at half speed at 1080/shadows at 1024/no AA.

Disappointing, but i'm not sure if it's my laptop or the subpar optimization I should blame.

EDIT: even with shadows off!

My specs, just because
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M
Intel Core i7 4710MQ (2.50GHz)
8GB RAM

Can't wait for someone to go into the game code and cause a stir some more

If they indeed do find some code related to soft engine and ps4 particle effects

What are your laptop specs ?

Great! I got a 360 Hori stick so I should be fine too. Now my only hope is that the port runs fine on my machine, which I'll find out in roughly 40 minutes.

I have a question. The Ps3 version took foreeeeever to load up characters in the character select screen. It made the whole thing super cluncky and stuttery.

How fast is in this one?

2 secondes at most I'd say.

Weird. Could it be an optimus related issue ? Or integrated GPU playing it ?
EDIT: Definitely weird, I tried to play the game with my GPU downclocked as low as possible: 417mhz for an R9 290, which puts at 2tflops, still can run it flawlessly at 1080p, FXAA, 1024x1024 shadows (didn't tried beyond that, I've been conservative here.) which is below your GPU power.

I dunno what optimus is, and I don't think it's the integrated GPU playing this because i'd be surprised if it could run this game at those speeds. But I'll check!

Optimus is an NVidia feature most laptops have where the OS can switch between using the integrated GPU and the dedicated one, iirc. So there might be a mixup with the GPU the port is using.

Yeah, you can go find the executable and right click it and make sure it runs of the Nvidia gpu instead of Intel. If the game was running at half speed on Intel, that is pretty impressive to be honest.

It seems like the mobile GPU is comparable to being in between a 750Ti and 760 desktop according to GPUBOSS site. Mobile GPUs kinda suck. I own a laptop with a 770M.

I wasn't expecting much from a laptop, but i'm just kinda surprised because so far this thing has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it at max settings (except for Witcher 2 lol). I guess I haven't exactly been trying hardcore games, but I was impressed to see it run FF13 at 1080 with no problems, as well as Xenoblade through Dolphin (at 4x native resolution and everything).

Anywho, how would I go about checking to see if optimus is causing problems?

oh. thanks, I'll try that.

Not bad, runs good on my laptop @ 1366x768, shadows on 2048, and 2X SSAA, no slowdowns and played great witih my dualshock 4. Laptop is a Lenovo Y400 w/ 750GT 2GB. Sucks that there is stuff missing but not a bad first attempt I would say.

I'll also add that the game runs great even on my very old GTX 680. I'm playing at 1080p and 4xSSAA and shadows at 2048x2048. There is some slowdown in the main menu when several levels are swooshing around in the background, but the actual gameplay performance seems solid.

And, as expected, the arcade stick works great too. Just had to remap the punch button, but that also works fine.

I've definitely seen worse ports, even fighting game ones. I just hope they add the missing features (not just online.)

Huh. I've set the game to run using my 870M, but it's the same. Weird thing is that even at 1366x768, windowed, with everything else turned off, the game runs at the exact same speed.

argh

EDIT: still not full speed at 1280x720. There's no way my computer is THIS bad.

It runs half speed for me as well. I have an i5 instead of an i7 but all my other specs are what I need and I've run most anything else at a smooth 60. Got a GTX660 (which is mentioned as the recommended card on the store page) and 12GB of RAM. Not sure if it's a weird settings issue or it just really doesn't like i5s.

There might be some problems then. You should at the very least play the game fullspeed at 1080p with FXAA.

Mmh what do you mean it runs at half speed ? Because the menus and the intro for characters are 30FPS. It's normal. The gameplay should be 60FPS though.

The menus/character select seem to be fine. I can navigate those with no lag at all. But when a match actually starts up, it seems to be running at a locked...sub60 fps. No matter what settings I choose (1366x768 nothing turned on vs 1080 with shadows and 4xFSAA), the game seems to be running at the exact same speed in matches. I'm not sure if the game is stuck at 30fps for everything and so matches are somehow being forced into 30fps or what, but something's off.

EDIT: I think that's what's going on. I'd been going straight into training mode, so I never saw character intros. Just tried a regular versus match...and the intros are running at normal speed at 1080/shadows/2xSSAA.

Game runs absolutely amazing and looks beautiful, great IQ. Although my comparison is the PSVita version, so take that with a grain of salt :P

Any word on why PC gets the last gen port?

Didn't Tecmo Koei do this with the latest Dynasty Warriors as well...?

I wouldn't call it a last gen port so much as it seems to be ported from the Arcade version which is based on PC hardware running under Windows. They seemed to have added everything else on top of that. It looks good to me besides due to the increase in IQ. I don't mind that last gen particle effects since they aren't really featured much. SoftEngine is not a big loss. It has sweat and dirt effects on the skin which I was happy about. Of course, we are all waiting for them to get Online working.

I experimented a bit and it seems like one fix if you're getting slowdown is to turn off the Steam Overlay. The game chugged whenever I got a notification, and not it runs pretty much great even though my processor is old as hell.

It's still a shit port, but for what is here it works fine.

Running almost fine on my rig

3570k
GTX660 (non-Ti)
16GB RAM 1866Mhz

3840x2160 (DSR), 1024x1024 shadows and FXAA. GPU usage between 80-99% depending on the stage.

4096x4096 shadows drops my FPS to 50-55.

Sadly, no 1440p option (gotta eat some crow now) so I have to play in 4k with an old GPU. ;(

Is it possible to down sample with GeDaSoTo? Can you run the game in 4k and have GeDaSoTo scale the image down?
I got this error when trying it: VRAM is insufficient. So maybe it works if you have a good GPU (mine has 2GB only).

This game is missing stages and online... And they waited until the last second to say something. Pretty fucking shady.
Everyone knew about online the second the pre-order went up (dec. 4th 2014).

Other than missing stages and online this port is pretty good. It runs beautifully and load times are very short. I don't even see the now loading text that I saw in PS4 version.

Watching some broadcasts, the 30fps cut scene to 60fps gameplay transition is very bad looking (its really noticeable) - hopefully someone find away to make it all 60fps.

Oh wow. If you EVEN change your name, the game will apparently erase your save?

What is this bullshit, Tecmo?
