Dead Pixel... On My GBA?

I know dead pixels are a big issue with DSs and PSps, and I don't recall anyone every saying anything about the GBA. Well tonight, I fired it up for the first time in months and noticed one tiny pixel is always blue, unless the background is white, then it turns white as well. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything that can be done?

has it always been there, or did it develop over time? you could call nintendo and test that dead pixel "zero tolerance" policy.

To be totally honest, I'm not sure, but I'm certain it just developed.

Any chance that they would repair it? It's the limited edition NES model, btw, so I'm rather partial to it.

I remember when my entire Game Boy screen turned into pretty much one dead pixel during an amusing game of Double Dragon back in '95. That was cool.

I'd dropped it down stairs = survived
Dropped it in the toilet = survived
Played Double Dragon = death

they might replace it. i've never dealt with nintendo about a broken system, but i've had sega and sony spot me repairs out of warranty. it's worth a try, anyway.

Yep, I have a friend with a GBA that developed some dead pixels a year after launch. It's normal. Not happened to me though.

I have one dead black pixel on my GBA that never really bothered me too much.

When I tried to upgrade to a GBA SP, I got one with two stick magenta pixels in a row which was really, really annoying. Returned to the store for a new SP which also had two stuck magenta pixels in an even worse part of the screen, so I took that back as well and just gave up on the whole SP upgrade.

Damn you LCD screens, damn you right to hell!

I was just babysitting a girl the other day, and she brought her GBA SP, and there was a nice long line of dead pixels down the side of the screen. She said she just turned it on one day, and there they were. It would have annoyed the crap out of me. :(

There are ways to recalibrate PC TFT screens with black and whitefields so that stuck unpixels become operational once again, but with a DS.. I don't know. Rubbing with warm lint free cloth is always an idea but it rarely works. My laptop had one of these and it got cured by itself through use, in a few months.. Stuck pixels can live with you for years or go away in weeks. Depends on your luck..

Dead pixels happen on any LCD.

GBA's included.

I read somewhere that compressed air (ah... I guess there's a better term for that) might work. For dust, that is. Don't see... how, though. And I wouldn't open it.

I have a dead pixel and a mote of dust. It doesn't really bother me much, but I never thought of asking Nintendo for a replacement. I might just try.
