Dead Pixels...

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
I have a laptop that I noticed has a dead pixel smack-dab in the middle of the screen. This really bothered me. What was strange though, was that it was white, and not red green or blue (RGB).

So then just now, I slapped in a DVD, and I noticed the white pixel was now on the right side of the screen.

Strange isn't it?

I don't think it's a stuck/dead pixel, but something else... Any ideas?

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

LCDs connect to a laptop's mobo via a ribbon cable. May want to make sure that is connected firmly or that the cable isn't crimped in any way. A loose or improper connection can sometimes cause some pixels to shimmer. Usually it's not TOO difficult to get to that connection. May want to check the laptop's website for some instructions. If it's a Dell, you can usually find great guides on taking the laptop completely apart.

The ribbon doesn't look easy to get to...
