I'm really into headphones, and the Astro A50's impressed me quite bit. I don't know how they'd sound for music, but they sound amazing for movies. I haven't tried the A30's, but Astro has a great reputation. I'm sure they're great cans, but I would be slightly concerned with comfort. The A50's felt nice, but that's expected with a top-of-the-line model.
You can get the DS3 pair for $129.99, but you'll need to get the headset amp if you want to use it with your consoles. I recently started using a headphone amp for my daily use, and I can assure you it's worth looking into. If you're going to throw down some cash for a nice set of headphones, an amp will really take them to the next level.
I mentioned the Beyerdynamic DT770's a few pages back, but I'll throw out the recommendation again. I haven't found a more comfortable pair of headphones, and they blew my mind playing DS2 the other night. The mids are incredible, and really let you pick up on stuff you might not notice without headphones on. Turning the bass up a bit with the headphone amp also gives the music cues more boom, leading to better jumps.
