Dear Esther - The first Portal 2 engine game gets release date Jan/Feb next year

So how do I get to play this game? Can I buy it on steam?

Reminds me a lot of the excellent Crysis mod The Worry of Newport that nobody around here talked about.

I just downloaded and played that this morning and while I don't think it was as polished as the Firefly Crysis mod (pretty much exact same style gameplay) it was stunning at times and incredibly atmospheric. I won't lie, a couple of the scares did work on me.

Edit: Actually I was looking through my "mods to play" folder and I found an older version of it in their lol. Past me had good ideas.

PC only? Mac release?

God, I want this game so badly. One of its screenshots has been my desktop's background image for a year now.

It's not a perfect mod and sort of unravels towards the end, but it is incredibly effective in its use of atmosphere and gave me a few scares as well. Haven't heard of this Call of the Fireflies mod. I'm downloading it now and will have to give it a go soon.

Calm down with the posts big guy. Addend your old posts to keep things short. =P

But yeah, played the original, getting this one too.. Even with my Vita coming the day after!

It's not a game. There's no real genre for it, it's kind of an interactive short story but without the interaction (you just walk around and trigger the narrated story parts). The thing it resembles most is probably Dinner Date. It's not long either, maybe forty minutes if you take your time.

To also add to this. Playing it several times will yield different narrative.

Yeah, it's randomly selected. Meaning also the story fragments have no direct connection with the environment. The story is the puzzle and once you figure that out you understand the environment.
