Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Any reason why some of the legendary armour items are dropping with a defence level of 10?

Did it come with any mods? :P

I personally think it's a far... FAR.... FARRRRRRRRR.... better system.

I agree, at least in base concept... it allows more attachment to a single weapon... you just swap the mods as you find better ones or want to change how the gun plays... personally, I LOVE the sound of this.

But the end-game is going to be mod-hunting... I assume attaching mods increases your light level too? And then people can $$ them (unless Bright Engrams really ONLY give blue rarity mods?? If so, I simply can't see it staying that way... it would mean that Bright Engrams are USELESS eventually)

Really? Are we sure about this? It is impossible to get rarer ones from bright engrams?

How do you get rarer mods, in that case?

You get purples and the like as rewards in game.

If a Legendary has armor rating 10 it means it came from a Bright Engram.

Guys how do I trigger the Heroic version of the Cabal Dome Shield Public Event? I've never gotten is to far and pretty sure that you need to shoot the exposed vents when the DoT effect happens within the shield, and thought I've gotten them all.

It's taking a long time to get into Crucible matches on the X1. Sometimes the screen also freezes in the process and I have to quit the whole game and restart.

Too early to get this answered?

I honestly don't know, am finished the run to level 20 and there is still tonnes to do it seems, loads of adventures and other missions, exotic missions, strikes aren't even part of the story so will see as we play.

@Z3MOG I don't really know tbh, will see I guess.

I don't know... they removed random weapon stats and they replaced it with collectable mods. So instead of grinding for a better weapon drop, we are grinding (or buying) for better mod drops... for the same purpose!
i was just trying to answer your question. If you are already fundamentally against the idea of mods in general I need to know a lot more first before debating the impact on the game. So this is all preliminary judgment.

I do know that I really love the removal of randomization from gear and knowing that I got the "real" version of a piece when it drops rather than something with the same name that is trash because of the wrong perks.

I also know it's not the same purpose, since you plainly didn't have the ability to put some of these mods on guns/armor in D1 at all let alone change them. On the Armor side it seems like it will make it easier to at least keep the LOOK you want. On the weapon side it further differentiates Kinetic weapons from the other two slots, and Exotics from legendaries. This system also affords the ability to switch the element of your Energy and Power weapons, which is customizability you didn't have in D1 at all.
They didn't fix the gear system... they found a way to make $$ from it.
Hmm, are you putting this forth as an assumption or do you have more information as to how this is the case?

If they intended to do that they seem to have failed. I have plenty of rare mods already and they're piling up, and legendary mods can't be obtained from anything purchased from the Eververse.

Rather, anyone spending money on Bright Engrams (I HOPE, in my heart) is mainly looking for the shiny cosmetic sparrows/shaders/ships/ornaments.

Surely it looks bad for them either way and as always I would prefer no microtransactions of any kind with at least better messaging about the contents. But I don't think your assertion here is even close.

To add the mod discussion: As far as I've seen you cannot get Legendary mods from Bright Engrams. The legendary ones are gonna be Best-in-Slot so you can use the rare ones (which are super easy to get mind you, just costs glimmer for a roll) to fill pieces you use while gearing. They are consumable so when you use it you lose it.

Hopefully this makes sense.

This has as much content as if you were starting the game at Destiny: The Taken King. Tons of things to do, quests to find, the grind and the gearing process is much more robust and interesting.

To those who were intent on PC only and have gone console and will double dip and move back to PC when it's out....

Do you feel there's enough "stuff" to keep you interested for 6 weeks and then another 6+ to make the PC version worthwhile? Are any of you limiting yourself to one character or not doing certain events/missions etc. while on console?

Idk if i can wait 6 weeks and i might double dip but restrict myself to only certain parts of the game or something of the like. I didnt think it would be an issue before but fuck they need to hurry this PC version up! lol

Ok, so Mods CAN be removed? If so, I'm falling in love with the system... if they are locked in once applied, or purples can't be removed from the Exotics that they are found on, then that is something that hasn't changed from D1.

Is there a cost for removing them? (trivial, just curious)

So are flashpoints basically:

"This week go to this planet and complete these public events?"
Yeah I think a specific location and public event type with harder difficulty and Nightfall tier rewards.

Oh I'm sorry, of course they can be removed, or rather, just replaced with another mod at any time. It costs 250 to apply a mod (at least a rare one).

Any mod can be replaced, I'm assuming you could even replace a legendary mod with a rare if you really wanted to. I don't know what the sources of legendary mods really are yet (Endgame-tier stuff maybe)?

That helps, so essentially destiny 1 all the way to TTK.

Thanks

I'm taking it real slow on console. Just enjoying the ride. Since I plan on making PC my main platform, it's not worth burning out on the game now. Seems like there's plenty there to keep me entertained without having to grind for stuff.

I'm not keen on having to do the story again for PC, but I did make a character for a class I've never played before (titan) so it is interesting enough.

I'm probably not going to raid and save that for PC, but strikes are still interesting enough and the side missions are interesting enough.

I'm probably going to sell it in a week or two so I'm not burnt out when pc release comes though.

Ok. So to get the other two subclasses I have to do public events until a particular item drops?

Can just open any chest and it has a chance to spawn. Not sure if there is a level requirement though. I got my 2nd class at 7 during a lost sector and my last one at 12.

For both of them?
You have to be at least level 7 for the first other to drop, and level 14 for the third to drop.

12 jeez o_o

Maybe the guide isn't even right.

I got mine at 8 and 16 *shrug*

Wait, do you lose the original mod if you "replace it"? Can't you out-right REMOVE it and put it in your inventory?

How are these not clear at this point? People are down-playing what these mods mean to the game... especially for the long-term...

First bright engram at level 20 got me an exotic sparrow.

FeelsGoodMan

Last night I was struggling running around while my fireteam all had sparrows... Now I'm faster than you chumps
